They were not clowns, as you put it, I was repeating their opinion of Hull not being part of Yorkshire and an opinion I have heard many times over my lifetime and not just from Yorkshire either. Hull has been marginalised for as long as I can remember and only when politicians feel they need help, as Labour did in the 60's or usually something bad happens did Hull get a mention in the media. Anglia Television, based in Norwich, gave better football coverage of Hull City than Yorkshire Television did they seemed obsessed with Leeds and the Sheffield teams of the day.

Not sure Stanley I remember Belmont being transferred to Yorkshire Television and we lost a big chunk of Hull City broadcast matches and had to put up with the dreadful mess that was Yorkshire TV. Anglia was quite a good broadcaster in those days, and not just for Crossroads either
Correct, at one time we had Tyne Tees, Yorkshire and Anglia broadcasting to our region, although the Tyne Tees signal was not always robust, well not for us as it faded somewhat, and I can't remember how long this situation lasted before both Tyne Tees and Anglia were lost forever.
