News coming out that Cue Card has not been showing his usual zest on the gallops and will not run at Sandown, he has been retired. Here's wishing him a long and happy retirement, this his champion bumper win:
This his run in what many consider the finest Supreme Novices Hurdle ever run. I was there that day and I can tell you, the roar as the commentator announced "Cue Card now begins to make ground between rivals" dwarfed the one at the start of the race. It comes just after the 3rd last and still gives me goose bumps to this day. It would have been bedlam had he won but in hindsight he ran a very honourable race
