That or video games are slowly breeding a generation of psychopaths that are programmed to kill anybody who does not play. I mean, I find time to watch football, play football teach, scout and play video games, if it's not your bag then fair enough but I've played them all my life and it's done me no harm. Generally speaking, the kids become dependent on them it says more about the parents than it does about the child.
There is a bit of controversy about at the moment that the new Battlefield is going to be set in WW1, for me it's good thing that games are set in different epochs in history so that people who might have not otherwise known can get an insight to what went on whether they are aware of it or not. https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2016/may/12/battlefield-war-game-first-world-war
For all the speccy twats on a nostalgia trip you can play a multitude of the games here. http://torinak.com/qaop/games
I don't think people will get any great insight as to what went on by playing a video game, enjoyable as many of them may be.
Us oldies used to play Cowboys and Indians. Can't recall any of us putting arrows through people or blasting them with a Colt 45. Your point about the parents is true. A well balanced range of things does no harm. However some parents take the easy option of video games, or social media, saving them having to do anything which causes them any effort and consequently some kids spend too much time in fantasy worlds instead of real worlds. I think my own grandkids spend too much time on playing video games or on their tablets but there isn't much you can do unfortunately.
Yeah it was done to entice more members in as it shows them as fun guild willing to take the mick out if themselves. Also I used to hate that raid as it was a pig when you had an unbalanced group.
