We are outdated, the head of state should not be a religous leader Buckingham palace is the biggest council house in the country
But Col, if the general population of the world believe it was an accident then surely it was a success. Eventually what were shocking headlines soon become tommorows chip paper. And we are talking about the same security forces who would have us believe that some fella locked himself into a holdall, in his bath and consequently suffocated to death. I can't believe how gullible the British public can be But to reiterate, this is just my opinion and it's worth no more or less than anyone elses
I just don't buy into the theory that she was murdered mate. The guy in a holdall case has clearly been covered up and we will never know the truth there! The security service can literally get away with murder, but The Queen can't order them to do anything....that's done by government!
Two separate issues there imo. Religion is the cause of so much blood shed and sectarian violence that I strongly think that it will be banned within a century or two. Especially as science continues to show what a fairy story religion is!! The Queen is the head of the church by tradition as much as anything. I do believe that a Monarchy is a good thing though, rather than a republic. You suggest that the Royal Family are "on benefits", but the main Royals work incredibly hard to get business into the country and bring in billions in tourism etc!! Everyone is entitled to their opinion though!!
Staines, apply your logic to anything else..." if the majority believe xxxxx, just shows how good the cover up was '. This is why lunacy such as the moon landings were faked, the US government is responsible for 9/11, Harold Wilson was a Russian spy still persist.once in a blue moon one of these theories may by fluke get near the truth. But trust me, there was no conspiracy to assassinate an aristocrat of limited intelligence and even less influence. Except in Al Fayeds head.
Col, we will never convince each other that we are right and the other is wrong but it's been great to debate some interesting subjects other than Barton and who we might or might not buy. For what it's worth I don't believe the Queen had anything to do with killing Di.....BUT Phil the Greek and his old boys network on the other hand.......
Spot on that. The moon landing conspiracy theory has been completely blown out of the water now that there are photos of the moon vehicles left behind etc.
Would have had to have been done completely without the knowledge of the head of government and heads of the intelligence services mate! I don't believe that Phillip would have put his grandchildren through that and I certainly don't think Charles would have put his sons through it either!
Fair enough mate. To be honest I am fascinated not in conspiracy theories but in the psychology of conspiracy theorists, what need does it satisfy to believe some of this stuff? Probably not a suitable topic for a football forum and bet WBA didn't think his OP would end up here!
As I said earlier mate, there was a study done a while back that worked out some people's brains are susceptible to suggestions such as conspiricy theories, I guess I'm one of those people. Same goes for Hypnosis, some people can be easily put under and some can't. I'm one of those people who can
I always liked the fun of a good conspiracy theory - JFK was my favourite. I must recommend 'Voodoo Histories - How Conspiracy Theory Has Shaped Modern History' by David Aaronovitch. In the end, believe whatever crazy stuff you like but don't mistake your belief for fact. Look a t evidence add common sense take a deep breath and think. Did the Royal Family murder Diana, for whatever reason, by arranging for her car to be crashed in Paris? Doesn't that strike you as the most bonkers plan? There are a million easier, more descrete and surer ways of doing it. Or was her driver pissed?
I think COL's true colours are starting to shine through at last. Its very true that if you give an idiot enough rope, he'll surely hang himself in the end. Its taken a few months but its finally happened here. Harping back over ancient wars and chastising an entire Nation is the Jingoistic, Caveman type attitude I'd expect from a Royal-loving, Tory bum-sniffer. Pull your tights back on Colin, Tin Hat at the ready. The Bugle is sounding and the hunt is on! Moron.
Your rants are getting out of control. I don't know what your problem is today but you've had a go at pretty much everyone and everything you could get at. The Belgians, the French, the European Union and on and on. Nothing nor no-one was spared. Its like you woke up with a headache and exploded at everything that came across your path.
Religion is such an emotive subject these days. The opposition from many atheists now borders on hatred, which is pretty strong stuff. But to say that religion is the cause for so much bloodshed and sectarian violence is quite wrong, I believe. It is man that perpetrates these horrific deeds, not some God or another. It is twisted arseholes that pervert their God's message for their own ends that are to blame, not the actual deity. If these men are truly religious believers of whatever denomination, then they'd be practicing compassion and not conflict. Does science prove religion is nothing more than a fairy story? I remain unconvinced. Those that have faith have, well... faith. They don't necessarily claim to have conclusive proof of the presence of God, but choose themselves to believe based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof. Sure, science is explaining many things to us. But, for me, the more that is explained, the less I truly understand. Until such a time as science can prove to me that you can create something out of nothing, I shall remain healthily sceptical of those that believe science can explain everything. Another example: they say the universe is expanding all the time. What they don't explain is into exactly what it is expanding. So much remains unexplained and probably will remain so. It's one of those 'agree to differ' subjects, I know. I'll never convince the atheists and they'll never persuade me. Just thought I'd chuck in my two penn'orth.
The rants at the French were a little tongue in cheek and mainly aimed at DT, although I genuinely find the French an unfriendly people. I've never met a friendly one. Where as I have met a lot of German people and found them polite and friendly to a man! Same with the Spanish, Italians and Scandinavians! The Belgium team were intent on kicking England all over the park tonight and that pissed me off with a tournament starting next week. Lastly....anyone supporting the European Union, taking into account the complete meltdown of the Euro must want their head examining. It is proven to be corrupt and most British people do not want to be governed by remote people in Brussels. I'm surprised you haven't played the racist card yet....surely I must be a raving racist in your opinion.........yes? And for you to criticise someone for ranting is, quite honestly laughable!!
