Blimey when I was 22 we had only just got a tv our phone because we had a shop was 3 numbers had to feed the car! chicken was a rich mans food, a duck or goose at Christmas was more common than Turkey. what was a freezer? fridges were in grocery shops only you had a baker a butcher..... sold meat often not bacon a grocer who did ice cream was rare casual clothes were almost unheard of shoes were always leather, soaked up water through the sole when wet as did a football, stars and neck ache was common on a wet day, as was the occasional broken ankle ! crime was low as plod would belt you round the ear and threaten to tell your father... those were the days Happy birthday
I was 22 in 1986 and I can remember a few things that happened. Walking up Winterstoke RD back to the Robins and Halleys comet being in the sky clear as a bell. Mike Tyson becoming the youngest ever heavyweight champion. The Chernobyl disaster. Argentina beat West Germany in Mexico World cup final. (Maradona scoring the hand of God goal against England in the quarter final) Bristol City win the football league trophy at Wembley beating Bolton 3=0 and finish 9th in the third tier (above Rovers yet again)
U Google has a fantastic memory don't it all I can remember in 86 was the World Cup (how I laughed watching the English crying) and Bolton apart from I was pissed
