hang on a minute are we talking about ffc Rodney marsh lol, in truth I met Rodney twice in the past year, when he asked me where did I think ffc will finish last season this was near the start of the season, I said 12th he said higher,we finished 12th.(my only right prediction) I found him a nice chap to talk to, even though he started his career at ffc, he did say his best time of his career was at rangers.(not sure what he had been drinking) of course I remember seeing him and best at ffc, I was already a fan by then, but this made me go to games when I was 8. he was is a quite humble man, and was surprised how easy he is to talk to
Rodney was my first R's hero but overtaken by Stanley for me, the typical QPR player of all time - flawed genius. Have to say perfect company - Rodders b'day on Friday; Macca's on Saturday and mine today - great trio! Hahaha.
Stanley Bowles, Dec 24th, 1948 Yes, I was extremely fortunate in the period 1966 - 1975 to witness both of our flawed geniuses in action:- Here's a little trip down memory lane - after watching that....bloody Leeds, bloody Norwich, bloody Don Revie! Today we could do with some of that Bowles/Francis "telepathic understanding".
****ing Norwich!!!! ****ing smug Emlyn Hughes!! What a goal that was against Liverpool and what a player Dave Thomas was!!
Still hurts watching that awful night Liverpool nicked the title, I'd been playing myself that evening and at the end we all gathered round the radio to listen to the last 20 minutes, Wolves were winning 1-0 and with 15 minutes left Liverpool scored, it was so close that a 1-1 draw would have made Liverpool champs but a 2-2 draw would have made us champs in the days of goal average, then they scored again and a third finished us off, what a sickener...
Even worse Sooper....I was at Molineux that night, couldn't get into the ground so stood on an embankment outside an office block where you could see about a third of the pitch, and surounded by Liverpool fans.....honestly thought that wolves would hold on at 1-0 but they just ground them done in the end.....
