Saint is definitely too far, but I think the bit in bold is pretty unfair.

Remember a lot of the loans were interest free (which is basically gifting the amount of interest each year) so that will cut out a big chunk of any profit she might make on it, but most of all anyone who invests in a football club like Norwich is taking a massive risk and clearly isn't in it for the money - she could easily have lost a big chunk of her investment. The fact that she's made the right decisions and is likely to get a health return on her investment I don't begrudge really and I certainly don't think in any way diminishes that she has made a few very good decisions that have lead us to having these four seasons in the Prem and I'm increasingly hopeful will result in a few more <ok>

There is absolutely no guarantee that were we to have any other owner that they would have done much better for us and, let's face it, we could have done a hell of a lot worse.

As for "would she... still be in the public eye" - it's easy to have rose-tinted specs about our club, but Delia has released 9 or 10 books since taking over our club and has sold 21 million books in all. Cookery is much more widely participated in than football, so I think you'll find she is better known for her cooking than her support of Norwich City for pretty much everyone outside of our little football bubble <ok>

Where did I say that I did 'grudge' her making a profit Rob ? Put simply my point is that we have been good for her as well as the other way round. It may have been a risk for her putting in the money, but just like any other business gamble it's a gamble that has paid off. I stick by what I said about still being in the public eye though, because of the fact that she is no longer on the tv.

You didn't - sorry mate that's not what I mean. All I meant is that you can't weigh off the benefits she gets against the benefits Norwich City has got from her investment - they're inextricably linked in that if she hadn't made good decisions, she wouldn't stand to make money.

If someone spends a load of money doing up a house and selling it for profit, I don't expect people to say "oh, he doesn't deserve any credit for doing the house up nicely and investing in it because he made a profit". The two are linked. It's only because she made the right decisions that she's likely to get any profit. So you can't weigh it off against her decisions, otherwise you're saying no-one can get credit for helping to make a football club successful if they make money.

As for the tv thing, I honestly think people overestimate this. Norwich City and football is not that big in people's lives. What benefits does she get from "being in the public eye". I do not believe for a minute that her ownership or investment in Norwich City had anything to do with the success of any of her recent books. In which case, in what way has she benefited?

Just a couple of points. Why at 74 years of age, and with her wealth, would she still want to be in the public eye? To be fair we do not know what she plans to do with the shares when she steps aside but if she does sell them at a profit surely that profit only came from the turnaround at the Club. She could have put her millions in and just lost the lot if things had gone wrong

So, with no heirs to take over their shares, Delia and Michael, in their d otage, will make a load of money by selling Norwich City and spend this vast , or a bit less than vast, windfall doing what? Whether you like it or not, they are City fans and have the best interests of the club at heart.

I think there's been a lot lost in translation here, I repeat that I don't grudge Delia anything whatsover all I'm saying is that it has been a good relationship for both parties I would have thought that was obvious anyway.
