EDIT: Damn things didn't come out in line, but anyway i think that's correct.
Why not more than a single cap? Well, he may well have not been big/strong enough etc, but I think that he suffered for the same reasons that Cyril Knowles didn't earn more caps: at the peak of his career (1971-1975?) the FA was infatuated with all things Leeds (bunch of thugs) and Liverpool. He had a heart of a lion however and is rightly considered a Spurs legend. He was not wel a while back so hope he is now back in the best of health to celebrate his birthday. We lost another maestro from the same era, little Jimmy Neighbour not long ago and he was a couple of years younger than SP....
Stevie used to come down to Andover a lot and watch the cricket team my brother -in -law (who's a Spurs fan) played for.One of Steve's in-law's also played for the same team
Did YOU ever progress from nursery school? What the hell does it have do with you anyway, how Spurs fans respect their former players? Suggest you spend more time on your own board - oh sorry, just noticed you haven't attributed any allegiance in your profile....... Suppose we will just have to guess that you are a Loserpool fan........
to idiot rubadub,he won 2 eufa cups ,2 fa cups and 2 league cups, also a eufa rnners up and the mbe,so now go and crawl back under your rock. all on wikipedia.also 1986 footballer of the year, yeah never won anything of note ,typical know nothing loserpool supporter
Hey! you started the birthday wishes and party without me. Happy birthday Steve a true Spurs legend (well my user names says so) Have a great day
Only United could congratulate him for calling the record a Top Flight record, League Apps is far more acceptable...which he loses, and probably wont catch Perryman.
Go back to supporting your **** racist player...that has also won fuk all of note btw, and not very likely to either. I notice you have to wait until May for a bit of European travel....your away game at Swansea!
Holy smoke! Stevie 60?I am old!!!!! I can remember when Bill brought him into the side as young whippersnapper with a crop Used to fly about midfield breaking up opposing attacks and he wasn't scared to tackle anyone....and usually came away with the ball, little fella that he was! NAPPY BIRTHDAY STEVE<YOU OLD 'UN<YOU! p.s.I think he also made up for John Pratt's shotcomings, too!! John Pratt.Ye Gods!!!!!
Don't be too harsh on John Pratt..... Agree that he wasn't the most talented player, but he worked his socks off for the club he loved and was a great servant. He was also one of the few players that developed from being a one- footed (right) player to being quite strong with both.
