I am extremely thankful that he decided to invest in the club and save us from going under. However it must be remembered that he is taking a 5% interest rate so it is not a 'gift' or anything of the sort. He is making a very good return at the moment. Another important point is this; If somebody saved my life but then wanted to chop off my hand would I not be entitled to be angry about it? The fact that he did a great thing does not mean that he can do whatever bad things he wants.
Its not a dig at Filey it just goes to show how people we thought where ok can kick you in the teeth. Although the writing was on the wall before this.
CityFiley has a good, non-football related reason, for appreciating what Allam has done with some of his money. In his position I .would probably feel the same. I just hope I never am in the same position.
No it just shows how things can change. Im pretty sure the Allams wont stop until they obtain complete dislike of themselves ,They seem to revel in it.
Couldn't agree more with this I never thought we would go back to the premier league or in my life time see Hull city in an F A cup final something I will never forget, he has done a lot for charity and I know he his an ill man at the moment but if he had only acted differently in some of his decision making with some of the stupid things he has done then he would have been the greatest owner ever. Why or why, sometimes I think its his nationality, he makes a decision, will never change his mind, will never admit he is wrong in fact will not even listen, he has made so many of us happy yet at the same time ruined the enjoyment of football for so many, massive shame.
I recall this thread and it really sank in what a fool, Chazz, is when resorting to insults when he can't reason his point. I didn't bother getting involved when Happy Tiger made his impassioned outpourings; they made him look stupid, fortunately he went on to prove it beyond any doubt.
Yes youre right im probably just looking at the football angle here. Theres a lot more important things in life that we forget about at times.
Shows what a bloody idiot i was right I did use to think he was a great owner...our best owner.. I reckon im not the only one who use to think that Alot of the reasons why i thought alot of AA was the stuff he has done at castle hill and the research centre at Hull uni. The fact that i now hate his ****ing guts and yes its a foul thing to say but i dont give a **** if he drops dead just goes to show what a great job The Allam family have done ****ing things up at Hull City My feelings for AA nose dived once he re applied gor the name change. I ALWAYS said i would go with what the fa said regarding the name change and he should have done the same.
Can understand why you thought he was a good bloke. And in that regard he was. At least as regards City you are big enough to admit that your initial thoughts were wrong. A lesson for some others.
My last home game tomorrow until concessions are brought back... :-( Going to games is one of the few things i can still do. :-( BUT there is a posative as me and the juniors will beat our 15 aways games next season and we love away games best. Away games arent a challenge as i get dropped off at TT coach and we get dropped off outside the ground. Just got to make sure i will still be able to buy tickets . AA use to be respected at Castle Hill by the staff......But he has lost a lot of that respect . He really has shot himself in the foot.
You obviously weren't an idiot, and by the sound of things you had an even more personal reason to appreciate his financial support of Castle Hill etc What this does show though is how in a couple of years he has managed to disenfranchise even those who were his most supportive. It's sickening to think how easily things could have been, and now be, so different.
