What flaw? Explain it to me Terrif will you. I mean seeing as Suarez clearly is an attacker and me being the one to say so means my argument was pretty much water tight. The flaw in your argument is that people who know about football, (see how this excludes you) can see more to a players role than your child like description of attacker, they are therefore able to laugh at your assertion that all attackers are comparable.
I wasn't trying to explain Suarez' role any further than he was an attacker. That was my point and he questioned it. I will be careful next time I refer to vidic as a defender, best remember that its centre back eh, Terrif?

I think the initial argument, which seems to have got lost somewhere amongst this 'I know more than you' debate, was not that Suarez isn't an attacking player, but that not all attacking players are directly comparable. Yes, Rooney and Suarez are both attacking rather than defensive, but you cant just place one's stats on top of the other and see who has the bigger numbers to determine who is best. While Rooney is better at one thing, Suarez is better at another. It really comes down to personal preference, both in terms of what you value in a player and which parts of a game you think are most important. For example, you might simply want your striker to put the ball in the net, while others want their strikers to be hard-working and help out defensively too. Others like to see passion, and others like to see flair. The list goes on.
Definitely and the original argument was whether they were comparable. They are obviously comparable as they are quite similar players and can play similar roles. Suarez is a more technical player where as Rooney is a more aggressive player and both have qualities the other doesn't. That applies to all players but we compare them all the time.
