Is he or is he not an attacker? I mean people use the general term 'defender' or the general term 'midfielder' all the time so the fact you are trying to pick fault at me rightly calling Suarez an attacker speaks volumes. whether you like it or not, Suarez is an attacker. His role is to attack, score goals, create goals. What type of attacker is he? Hes a striker. Simple isnt it.
So you've never heard of an attacking midfielder,a defensive midfielder,a wing back,a holding forward etc? The area/position on the pitch you start the game is'nt 'always' a pointer to your job within the team.
Hes a left or right forward can be either, not a striker though really. Strikers try to be on the end of everything rather than creating as much as scoring. Owen is a striker Suarez isn't. You is simple init
Yes of course but an attacking midfielder is still a midfielder, a defensive midfielder is still a midfielder. Midfielder is a general term for someone who plays in the midfield. Some use it to simply refer to centre midfielders at times aswell.
Which means by default he is an attacker. Attacker isnt actually a position on the pitch. Its a role. Are we now agreed on this silly debate?
As I said to PMK this is stupid. I am not saying you are wrong just that to say hes not an attacker is insane. I will make it simple... What is his primary job on the pitch. Defend or attack?
I take it the question wasnt simple enough for you. I would try again but I dont think the question can get much simpler.
Be honest here terrific, you just cant agree with a manc can you? Come on, its not that hard. If it causes that much of a problem just have a scolding hot shower afterwards.
To a degree yes. You wouldnt get anywhere because one is an attack minded midfielder ( Nani, hes a winger obviously ) and the other is a defensive minded midfielder. They are far more different than Rooney and Suarez. You picked two extremes. had you said Giggs and Scholes then as we have a CM and a winger then yes, you can compare them.
Nope your right, your question was very simple. In fact trying to lump players together and compare them because of the mere fact that match attax (or whatever your source of footballing "knowledge") calls them attackers is way too simple for people who actually watch and understand football.
If you dont understand that Suarez and Rooney are attackers then you quite simply dont understand football. Its one of the very basics for **** sake man. are you seriously trying to say there is no way to compare Rooney and Suarez? and you question my football knowledge. Back in your box.
Once again you are right, it is a very basic step in understanding football. However, unlike you, most of us on this board advanced past that basic level some years ago and now use our own eyes to discriminate what players are comparable. That my dimwitted friend is why you should stick to the banter thread.
You do make me laugh Terrific. You now agree that he is an attacker I take it yet still question my knowledge of the game when it was you who failed to grasp the very basics. Interesting I must say Terrific, very interesting.
