Home. Great away day One of the moments of the season when that goal went in. Just don't think anyone was expecting it and everyone went utterly mental. Can see it meant a lot to Lesley and other players too. Thought we were actually good value for the point too if I'm honest. Although i didn't see it happening after Dibling's missed chance which he should have buried. That said I thought the was his best performance for ages today. Also heard an interesting snippet about him today from a very reliable source which I'm not going to share for now but which makes me assess these last few months of his quite differently. Thought KWP was his usual recent poor self for an hour or so before looking like the KWP of old for the final 20 minutes and had a huge impact. Stephens I thought had a very decent game. Arguably one of our best defenders since he came back in. Wellington was poor. Decent atmosphere considering how terrible the ground is all in all I think and I mischievously enjoyed the good old fashioned misogyny with the gobby West Ham fan who was loving the attention. Nice to know the game isn't completely sterile yet though some lads did take it too far imo. All in all... ELEVEN POINTS BABY UTFS
Is now a good time to mention I've got 5 of our 11 points this season? Basically this season's loading tbh.
Something I forgot to mention but the lino was absolutely shocking in that second half. Ref completely bottled a second yellow too. Doesn't matter now mind
I didn't see his debut game against Ipswich, when lots of people seemed to like what they saw. But whenever I've seen him since then, I haven't been impressed at all. Sure, he's not been Paul levels of embarrassment. But he does seem a long way from PL level. I'm not even confident of how he'd fare in the Championship.
He did look against Ipswich (which maybe suggests championship is his level?) but I tend to agree he's looked very poor since. Very similar to Sulemana.
Thank you for writing & @Libby highlighting too. Was amazed around Dec a few on here thought he’d waltz into the side & be a shoe in. Of course we’re just talking about today but he looked a player from another continent & way out of his league. Didn’t see much for the EFL either but maybe, with a proper full pre season ?
FORMER captain James Ward-Prowse labelled it "emotional" to face Saints for the first time, as he wished them a speedy Premier League return. The 30 year old had not played against Saints since he left the club in August 2023, before Saturday's 1-1 draw at West Ham United. Ward-Prowse had visited St Mary's with Nottingham Forest earlier this season but was an unused substitute in his side's 1-0 victory. The Saints academy graduate made 410 appearances for Saints before heading to West Ham in a £30million deal following relegation in 2023. Ward-Prowse has moved to wish Saints, who are already confirmed as relegated again, well in their upcoming second Championship campaign. "It was a strange feeling, it was different to any other game I have played in before,” said Ward-Prowse. "It felt a bit emotional for me in a sense. "It’s disappointing to see them where they are in the table. I hope they will be back in the Premier League soon, I wish them all the best." West Ham have still not got going under highly-rated new boss Graham Potter, who recalled Ward-Prowse from his Nottingham Forest loan. This result means they have picked up an average of one point a game, a worse record than under much-maligned predecessor Julen Lopetegui. Ward-Prowse admitted: "This halts any momentum that we’re trying to build here. The performances haven't been bad but we lacked tempo. "In the first half, we allowed them to dig into the game, while we need to give our fans something to get off their seats about. "We need to be adaptable and have different things up our sleeves against all types of teams we are playing."
Great result for Saints. Been birdwatching in Cornwall and saw manx shearwaters and Choughs for the first time as well as Grey seals. All in all, a good afternoon for me.
I saw the Lesser Spotted Ugochukwu in a really strange area yesterday & took a peck out of some turgid spam.
In fairness it his hard to judge him. He arrived when we were pretty much relegated and is playing in one of the worst PL sides ever. If you had only seen KWP this season, or since January, you'd think he was probably championship too. But we all know he is very much a PL player and a good one at that.
