Aww, bollox. I've just realised we won't buy Carroll. I've also realised that we're monumentally poor. Furthermore, Pardew wants two or three. He wanted two or three last year. We got one. Take into account all the dead wood we're carrying; Ameobi, Jonas, Obertan, Gosling, Williamson. Take further into account the question marks over Marveaux, Anita and Tiote. Then there's those who've just been average all season, Cisse, Cabaye, Perch. Looks like we need an overhaul and we won't get it. Or am I being overdramatic?

Mike will probably be thinking he can go to France and get the two strikers we need with the 3.75million from the 25% Carroll sell on fee.

I have no illusions that he probably sees us as a stepping stone. If he does well with us, then he will probably move to a bigger club, but at the same time maybe helping us to stabalise as a premier club

I can't see it if I am honest but it would be a good partnership Carroll and cisse. Carroll is a battering ram where cisse is an elegant ninja.

I've just read that he's out til October!

If West Ham continue to pursue this transfer now they're nuts. No pre-season and won't play until October he'll be out of form until probably January by which time they could pick him up, fit and ready for about £5m.

Or it could be lies and he just wants to give Newcastle the whole window to sign him, watch him miraculously recover in about 5/6 weeks and sign for you lot.

We didn't pick him up last time he was free. All I want from West Ham are Diame and Reid. Two top signings they would be. Also cannot fathom where West Ham got £15m from.

Sky reporting we have no interest in signing Carroll.

Given that Pardew said last week that he DID want to sign him can we take this as news that Pardew may not be around much longer??? Or am I putting two and two together and coming up with five???

It was all over Twitter this morning, loads of journalists reporting he was out for 4 months. Don't see it now when I look back so maybe false information but what I did just see is Sky Sources saying Newcastle are not interested in re-signing Andy Carroll.

Perfect player for you, another fail from your manager not getting him in.

This is odd, the whole "we're not interested" thing. Pardew literally stood in front of cameras and said if a player of his quality was available, every club in the Prem would take a look. I mean, it was just political speak for "yep, I'd have him". Yet the club - not Pardew - have categorically announced they are not interested.

    Odd.

Actually, I don't think he's right for us - he's not really a leader, more a heart-on-sleeve type, but he's injured more than he's not. His only spell without came at us, since then he's been constantly crocked. And not with the same thing, either.
