    I liked her too but for me it has to be Diana Rigg in the original Avengers plus it's stood the test of time much better than The Champions

    I was at both of those matches. I think the HDF headline was actually Hour of Hell on North Road but as with many things, I could be wrong. I didn't see any of it as I just had to cross the road and head off up Calvert Lane to walk back the three miles to our house. I always walked both ways. Why walk? It cost 10 pence on the bus and that was the same price as a programme. That's why I have hundreds of 1970s City programmes.

    I remember Plymouth made one of their rare visits in the seventies and charged down North Road. I jumped into a garden, ducked down and waited till they passed. Then I jumped back, crossed to Calvert Lane and walked home reflecting on another 10 pence profit I had made.
