And since we're taking it off topic I've been very impressed with Andy Murray since Wimbledon onwards and with Nadal and Federer out of the US open he may be on track for his first grand slam win. Shame he's up against berdych next.

He's helped by the fact DC absolutely loves him (I assume your watching on the BBC).

May the day come very soon! I'm hoping that the Olympics gave him the confidence boost he has lacked so far.

For purely selfish reasons I don't want him to win the US Open, as i would quite like to see him win his first grand slam when i'm not fast asleep

Usually all threads eventually become all about Hamilton even when he isn't remotely involved.

Can I have a medal for turning a Hamilton thread into an Andy Murray thread??? Pretty please, no ones ever done that before.

PS: yeah it would be good if his first grand slam win was wimbledon but I'm still hoping for the US open.

When the comments turn to him being a moaning, chocking one hit wonder though, we may as well still be talking about Hamilton. :p

I dreamt once that Schumacher won a wet race but Rosberg led the whole race until team orders took place. The track looked like Monza. And i wasnt very happy. :3

    Never going to happen ;)

    Inception.

I dreamt Schumacher won the Bahrain GP in 2011, never happened of course.

Hmmmm..... I've not known what to think of the idea of Hamilton going to Mercedes up until now: It's a big gamble but the more I think about it the more sense it could make in the next couple of years or so. But this comment from Whitmarsh has convinced me. He/McLaren are running out of patience. Clearly that relationship has broken down to the point where unless there is some sort of miraculous change of heart on both sides (not very likely) they cannot continue productively. If Hamilton stays there just because he feels he has no choice it's starting to look like some sort of hideous loveless marriage.

Merc want Hamilton enough to pay him £60 million over three years: they value his talent that much and see him as a big part of the jigsaw when it comes to getting to the front. He'll be working with Ross Brawn, the best in the business at what he does, and who will support him through thick and thin. Success may not come in the short term, but I can't see lasting success at McLaren either when the relationship has broken down like it has. I am now convinced he should jump, even if I will have conflicted loyalties about teams and drivers.

Just want to point out what I said back in 2012, well it only took them 2 years to turn them into World Champions which is quicker that I thought, but it was obviously that Mercedes were going to be a top team.
