It's funny, he's done almost exactly what Chapman and Henry Norris did for Arsenal back in the 20s/30s to make Arsenal great in the 1st place - modernised the club, put in place modern methods, ground breaking systems that changes the league and country and made it one of the biggest clubs in the league - certainly financially. But for GC I definitely get why you are annoyed with it. Though I always got the impression that the 60,000 tickets were split with season ticket holders (split gold, silver, red) allocated 1st, corporate tickets, then a section given to away fans then members allowed to buy tickets - then the rest given to packages (ie tourists) and put on public sale - so the ones really losing out to the tourist are the fans that can't afford/don't want to become members.
There is nothing on the club website about selling tickets to tourists.I would like to reiterate I have absolutely no problem with fans from abroad attending games,I know that we have supporters clubs all over the world. You only have to look at the enthusiasm of fans when we have gone on pre season tours to various countries. What I have a problem with is the club selling tickets to tour companies at the expense of members who pay money every year to be prioritised when it comes to the sale of match tickets. There is absolutely no guarantee that tourists will spend money on merchandise or that they will give Arsenal a second thought when they return to their countries of origin.
