In fairness we were pretty ****e (more ****e than pretty) so probably worth a bit of banter. Pre-season friendlies do mean nowt - but if we beat Barcelona in a friendly we'd still be shouting about it, and if you got beat off Darlington I'd still chuckle. On the game itself our defence looked more than 2 weeks away from being coherent and all of the players looked dead on their feet. They may be having some heavy fitness work atm though so I'm not going to read too much into that. More concern is how disjointed we looked cos of so many new faces, and if we're not careful we could fall into the same trap as you did last year with having too many signings. Then again we could lose again 6-0 tomorrow and start the league with a win against City. More likely we'll get hammered though

I don't have a problem admitting it's the first two fixtures I look for and the first result after ours. Anyone who says they're not interested in Newcastle isn't being honest with themselves. Your signature suggests you feel the same

Too true we may have found a gem in Rolando Aarons too he has been stunning this pre season, old fashioned winger. That will be Pardew's cue to play him 5 times in 10 minute cameos at left back mind.
