Yep , derby county fans will have a field day and rightly so . Acting like the boothferry park days when it was front page news to get an attendance into double figures , imagine if we went to pride park and they where having a party cos they had sold 15k tickets, we would laugh our cocks off
Our gates are **** We’ve just nearly doubled it It’s not a sell out But it’s better than nothing And if they continue doing these things we might get more I can’t see how we can complain personally
They only had to do a few things differently and 15000 would be our lowest crowd in a season not the highest
Just my opinion , I don’t like cringe at the best of times . Thriller at The Villa , Tigers in Tyneside , all cringe . That sort of stuff was kind of understandable - and Newland has hit on the head exactly why it isn’t now . The ticket pricing was enough , I just don’t get the need for the razzmatazz under these circumstances . But if everybody else enjoys that match day experience , that’s fine . I’ll keep my miserable opinion to myself
Just enjoy it, hopefully the players will put on a performance, back the team, create a bit of an atmosphere and enjoy a pie if your having one,
everyone knows we'll be **** on Saturday - we had a great result on Wednesday, we'll fill the ground with loads of razamataz and then we'll be **** - its just what Hull City do
Sadly yes. I didn't expect anything the other night and I was surprised (pleasantly). Surely they can't surprise me twice. Certainly not without Magennis up front.
I don't see the logic in fans stopping away then taking the piss about our low gates. At least the commercial team have got their arses into gear for tomorrows game. Some of it might sound naff but if your 10 and being taken to your first ever football match, a balloon, free flag and an offer of getting your face painted sounds as attractive as a half price pie does to the old generation. Good luck to them, I hope it catches on.
Hopefully it does. I hope it pays off and am glad the club are finally addressing the crowd situation and trying to get some back.
This is my 4th game this season after a long exile, l haven't looked forward to any of the games, flat atmosphere, none of my mates going, etc but tomorrow l'm really looking forward to it(just like it was before the Allams)
I will clarify that i am not against attracting fans etc , but that job was done with the ticket prices . It seems that most the razzmatazz has been added recently ,since the announcement of 15k - so it isn’t all been done to attract fans , it’s a celebration of the attendance .even I’ve just read Grant McCann saying tomorrow is going to be special!! - Jesus wept -I know he’s spent time at Peterborough and Donny, but we were in a cup final 5 years ago and tomorrow is going to be special! , and people are saying it’s not too far? Give me a break .... as a kid all I remember thinking about my first game was the green of the pitch , excitement hearing the tannoy - watching players warm up ( mini Nigel ). My first goal , I didn’t need a hootenanny to enjoy going to football . But once again I am not knocking entertaining kids - in just saying keep it in perspective , remember why getting 15k seems a bit exciting when it shouldn’t be . I’m hoping the reason for the party is a secret announcement of a new owner at half time , then I’ll rattle my rattle like a bat out of hell
Looks like the lower bowl is going to be almost full at this rate. They've probably shot themselves in the foot by not opening at least the middle blocks of the west upper.
Also piss taking from the sgg chasing fraternity, at work yesterday laughing at only 15, 000 sold. My reply was, as you are all Hull born and bread are you going to support your local team? No! I thought not!
Heard that they'll be selling half pints of beer at the full price. Marketing masterstroke. I may buy 2.
How can they take the piss about a crowd they could only dream of for a routine league match, and I'm guessing the Rugby prices are cheap with loads of freebies too.
