£500 for 19 games, £250 for 14? Money is everything in this world.

I actually think its a cracking idea. The offer is only open to existing season ticket holders for another ticket, a kind of get one, get one half price deal.

£100-£120 to get some bairns in. I have no doubt it will boots attendances its a terrific deal.

Where the idea does fall over is for those that have already paid full price for their family members, when they could have waited half a dozen games and made some savings.

More the merrier though i say.

So you want to halve our season ticket revenue and reimburse everyone who already bought their season tickets for prices they were willing to pay at the time? These types of offers are common outside of football. Would you throw a fit if you signed up to a Sky package with 10% discount for 12 months and price frozen for 10 years, then 3 months in there was an offer for new customers to get their first 9 months half price, after which they'd be paying more than you, and with year on year price rises too?

For this season only. Ever got an introductory deal from Sky or for your mobile? That's what this is. An incentive for the referrer would be nice but I'm not complaining otherwise. This is from a very skint mortgage payer too, I can barely afford a pre match pint so I know all about the value of money.

I see all of your points, I honestly do. But the fact that this is meant to be aimed at us anyway, it doesn't help a lot of people who have no one to use it with, what do we get?

Bums on seats, blah blah, I agree, but why should people who will probably just go this season because of the offer get a better deal? Some may come back, but a lot won't because of the price.

I agree with treating football fans fairly with prices, but why should someone get a better deal just because it's one season and it will probably be one season only for a better price than what I have paid for that season? Surely you can see my point?

Yay! Something to moan about again. I love being a Newcastle 'fan' me.

Who cares if the stadium will have more supporters in it to cheer the team on, if I'm not getting cheaper **** I don't care!

I absolutely do see your point, and I also wish that season ticket holders could get incentives like cheaper cup tickets, but at the same time I'm not going to complain about a good introductory scheme to get the ground full when I happily signed up to a cracking deal at the start of the season. If anything you could even share the savings if you do use it, its family and friends, I think I'd be angrier if it was general sale at that price.

The way you're coming across to me is that it's done purely to spite you because you can't do anything with it... well it's not it's quite clear to people who have been going to the games (you included) that our attendances are down and this will only benefit them. People are frequently mocking them down the road for not being able to fill their stadiums for whatever reason and when the chances comes up for us to possibly get rid of some of the other seats unable to be shifted at the moment you kick up a fuss about it.

Why shouldn't people get offered a better deal, and it's not being touted out to old joe public, it's people who already have a season ticket... see you are being paid for loyalty, not quite in the way of reduced ticket prices for those who have already bough one etc... but allowing a friend of family member to also attend for a reduced price instead of paying the extra. Honestly I can't see why you're getting riled up about it. As other people have already mentioned it happens in other places outside of the game of football.

All though I don't own a season ticket (as I'm away to much to get to enough games to make it worth it) had I been I would have certainly been able to find people willing to take up the offer and I'd be quite pleased with it too...

The way you're coming across to me is that it's you that is losing out because people are getting season tickets cheaper, but it's not. People that have already paid as much as you for their season tickets are being offered the chance to get extra ones for a reduced price. Just because you aren't taking up the offer doesn't mean you aren't being offered something. For me you're just whinging for whingings sake.

No it isn't. But don't want to turn this isn't a political debate, also brings in no additional revenue and denies actual fans seats.

With this offer we should get a guaranteed(ish) rise in attendances over these 14 games, additional revenue we probably wouldn't get from box office ticket sales alone, and after 14 home games I would imagine many would get a taste for having a season ticket and would be willing to pay full whack the next time around, or just get into the habit of going and pay the price because of that.

I'm annoyed that I paid £272 for the full season, when now I could get the same seat for around £100 for the rest of the 14 games. Meaning I paid £172 to see Arsenal, FULHAM, BLACKBURN, WIGAN, and Tottenham. That's what I'm pissed off at.

On the plus side, if we can get 50,000+ crowds for the rest of the season, brilliant. Make SJP a fortress again, as long as these new fans aren't the type to sit on their hands and eat prawn sandwiches fine by me.

I see your point, but having spoke to a lot of mates about this, who also can't use this deal, they also feel a bit aggrieved. There will be a lot who won't be able to use this deal, not just me, so please stop getting personal about it, it's the fact that for me and every other ST holder it was £500+ for 19 games, yet for 14 it's half that. Clearly you can't see my point, so let's just leave it. Had my rant and I know where I stand and I know where other people stand.

Can I also point out though, moving away from the price. They are selling family enclosure tickets yet they closed level 7 singing section because they claimed it was 'highly popular', clearly not as they have seats available(they will also have to leave some for general sale) and that they started selling tickets in level 7 on Saturday where we have been moved from on general sale.

Only if you knew someone who had paid that and was willing to do the deal though, which if your mates are like you you'll struggle with!

I think we both know each others opinion on it now Leazes as we're not arguing it and we've both put our points across, but regarding the last part the Family Enclosure always looks busy even if some of that is matchday sales so I've no problem at all with selling more cheap seats for younger fans. New fans is always a good thing. The pay turnstile folk against Wigan were in blocks that are normally reserved as empty for the gap between the away fans so you couldn't sell season tickets there anyway. I don't want to turn this into a relocation argument though, I moved to the East because I didn't want to move to the away corner (singing section) in the last Leazes move so I couldn't care less frankly...

I do not see why some season ticket holders are getting in a tiff about this. Nobody was obligated to give an offer to the fans and it is the season ticket holders who are in control of it, if they do not like it then they can not do it. It is not like it is on general sale for 50% off. Plus current season ticket holders have got their prices frozen for 10 years and if they stayed during relelgation they got 10% off, while people who buy a season ticket through this new offer might be paying less for the rest of the season but after that they will be paying more.

    What's that meant to mean!?
Most my mates have already got ST's and the ones that haven't are fair weather supporters who only come to the big games e.g Sunderland, Man Utd, Liverpool etc

It means that if you didn't have a season ticket and wanted one of these you'd have to find a mate who has to sign you up. If you've got fairweather mates why not try to tempt them?

Bit of a non starter for me as how many people with ST's have a free seat next to them for a family member or friend to sit next to meaning that who ever you buy your season ticket for sits on their own!
Also if they're that much of a fan they'd already have an ST so they take up this offer then when the price is £500/£600 next season you can't bet your bottom dollar that they Wong cough up the cash !

this benefits the club and gives the fans who might not be able to afford the usual season ticket the chance to have one... its like buying cheese in a supermarket... then going back a week later to see the cheese in a reduced aisle then having a rage... how many people will buy a full priced ticket a 1/4 of the way into the season??.... now compare to how many people will buy a 50% ticket a 1/4 of the way into the season?...
