Both are a million miles off what we require... gayle over muto though he is better than joe by some way
Joelinton needs to play within the width of the six yard box for the whole pitch. Playing as a one up front it is his job to be in the middle holding the ball up, bringing others into play and scoring goals. That's it, nothing else.
And what is startlingly obvious is he doesn’t want to play that way. It’s the perfect example of a scout who knows nothing about football management picking a player on behalf of the manager. Rafa at least knew he wasn’t very good and not right for our style of play. Bruce just didn’t realise there was a reason we play 9 at the back but found out pretty quickly. Joelinton has zero interest in work rate. He wants to fanny about and be the big I am, putting the ball in the net. He’s also **** at that.
My comment about turning Schar into a striker was actually vaguely serious. He got goals from defence last season and he's done the same this season, he's good with headers, and remember that banger he scored against Burnley last season. With all our strikers unable to score, I'd say its at least worth an experiment like playing Schar up front and seeing if it's an improvement on the current attack.
There was a huge article somewhere about the 101 reasons why Josef Martinez isn't leaving Atalanta. It's a complete non-starter. Honestly, I think Nickson is a ****ing fraud and is stealing a living from the club. He can, because 1) Ashley doesn't give a **** and 2) Charnley knows absolutely **** all anyway.
He stopped playing for Venezuela last year as he said it was causing his mental health to deteriorate. Should fit in well with us. He did play with Young Boys for a while but he has apologised for that and said it was just a phase he was going through.
