Of all the places for the wheels to come off Arsenal's season, it had to be in the city with a reputation for stealing hubcaps...
I can't believe Wenger would be so stupid as to rest Flamini for this fixture, but that's exactly what he did and they were left open to wave after wave of Liverpool attacks.
It's a tactic that all L'pool opponents, including us!, will have to watch out for. They really came storming out of the blocks and caught The Gooners cold before they seemed to realise what had hit them.
I made the point elsewhere that he has had an influence shoring up their defence earlier in the season, its why they got him in, they have no one else, can't keep Diaby out of the treatment room. Same pattern with this Kallstrom, AW keeps plumping for cheap stopgaps instead of paying out...like he said he would!
Yes, well we were more than slightly handicapped at that time by a certain Portugese managerial incompetent!....
Only messing mate but tbf its the truth. Anyway please make sure you match the blueshite tomorrow and get a draw.
It also helped when you played us that we had over half our defenders injured and that we played with 10 men for half an hour. Not excusing but if you're going to claim it was some brilliant plan B then it's relevent.
We also had half our defenders injured. Much like we did today, according too the Arsenal fans they had a superior midfield and defence to us, and that their CB pairings were the best in the PL. That comment come back too bite them in the arse. I love how open it is this season though, exciting!
Yeah but we didn't test your defence Seriously though, I've just had a look and Enrique looks like the only one missing for your matchday squad. Anyway, I was talking more about us having 4 of our 8 defenders injured. In the end we fielded Dawson and Walker alongside 2 players out of position and a debutant youngster once one of them got crocked. Arsenal's defence has been very good over the past few months and unless they were just talking about the midfielders that they currently had available then I'd agree. Still quite a performance today from your lot, the surprises this season keep on coming.
