By the way, I would just like to say thanks to all the members here who still go to Charlton games and give their accounts of what is happening there.

Before beginning to boycott I had not missed more than 6 or 7 home games in 11 years.
It's a long time since I went over a month without seeing Charlton play during a season, and of course at present I have no idea how much longer I'll be staying away. It is a bit of an adjustment, and I can already feel that I am losing touch with the mood of the crowd, and all the other nuances that you pick up on and remember when going to a match.

I greatly appreciate any and all insights into the football itself and of course all the other match-day goings-on.

If Duchatelet has not sold up by the end of the summer I may have to get myself to a few Charlton away games next season.

That certainly is the impression, although our club is so full of liars and bullshitters that all we can do is guess.

I will be very interested to see how many season tickets we sell should Duchatelet still be in charge for the start of the season.

For the fans that are wavering surely they MUST say enough is enough and wait to line the pockets of the new board.

Genuinely think we would be doing better under Slade. Compare the team he had with what we have now.

I still think Slade 'played' for a sacking.

His body language on interview at the Orient pre-season game strongly suggested all was not well.

Having said that, he just joins the queue who have signed for us knowing they would get a quick pay off.

Robinson is one of the worst managers in our recent history. He has plodded along for 18 months in mid Div 3 with players than Paul Hurst, Kenny Jackett or even Tony Mowbray would have got promoted with.
At least Karel Fraeye had the excuse of coming up against Championship sides, and Slade had the excuse of picking up the pieces of what Fraeye destroyed. What’s Robinson’s excuse. He has just taken 1 point with no goals scored off Blackpool and Fleetwood.

Get rid, and quick. And send Bowyer out with him.

Funny how the wheels have come off our season since the Regime sold Holmes.

    Who’d have thought it?

Still, at least we got Kaikai, Zyro & Mavidi

I remember fans on a certain other site drooling about Kaikai - Championship clubs wanted him apparently. In the same way la Liga clubs wanted Reeves.

Even players who were recognised as decent have failed to deliver.

Mark Marshall was Bradford's POTY last season.
When he recovered from his injury and began playing for us in November there were high hopes. I thought he did well in the first two or three games I saw him take part in.

But what has happened to him since?
He isn't going to be Charlton's POTY this season, even in an embarrassingly weak field.

As for Duchatalet letting the takeover drag on, the other side may be doing the same. What motivation have they to dive in quick.and start paying the debts. Until he sells, that is Duchatalets' problem. With no insider knowlege, I wonder whether the delay is a lack of desire to pay over the odds for a club going nowhere. What's the hurry?
On the pitch, we are found out. I don't deny injuries have ravaged us. But Magennis as lone striker again? The only surprise is that KR needed so much longer than the 'stupid' fans to realise it wasn't going to work. The truth is with a decent manager, we could still snatch a place in the play offs. But we don't. And it begins to cast a shadow over Jackson and Bowyer as they are associated with the current car crash.

Duchatelet's need to sell is greater than whoever wants to buy us.

I am certain he will fold before the opening game of the season in August.

Crikey I hope you are right Elfs.
But I recall back in January you and I were both of the opinion that the completion of the takeover was only a week or two away.

For me it was wrongly thinking that squirrel face resigning was meaning the sale of the club.

A pretty straightforward article about Charlton's performance against Fleetwood,
and our official attendance figures - which are now widely seen as ridiculous even compared to the generally inaccurate numbers given by most other Clubs.

    https://www.londonnewsonline.co.uk/...tics-play-off-credentials-after-major-wobble/

During the last games of our relegation season, apologists were scoffing at the very concept that Charlton's home support could fall below 10,000.
Even this season SR has tried to claim it was sometimes 15,000+ ... an inexplicable fantasy figure.
The reality is now less than 6,000 at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon.

SeriouslyRidiculous was spouting off his usual cobblers about the 17K that were in the ground for the Shrewsbury game. The silence is deafening that the advertised gate dropped by 8K for the next game.

This coupled with the confirmed bums on seats as less than 6K.

The fella is an idiot of the highest proportions.
