Was ooming and aahing about going today, that one drink too many last night dictated I didn't, delighted I didn't bother, would you please fvck off Robinson
Some of the early news reports are saying we have a great save from Ben Amos to thank for not being beaten again. I'm going to assume he was out MOTM unless anybody can correct me. When our goalkeeper is our best player at home against a team in the relegation zone, I think we can safely say that it's going to be League One football for Charlton again next season.
Just home. Clueless, ugly, unimaginative football played out in front of a deserted Valley. Against a limited but well drilled Fleetwood, all of the familiar Robinson- team flaws were again on display. A yawning gulf between the midfield and a totally isolated and hopeless Magennis. Poor performances from F-Caskey, Reeves and particularly Marshall, which meant we created next to nothing in 90 mins. And Fosu stinking the ground out with his corners, which consistently failed to beat the first man. A half decent side would have beaten us today. Minus da Silva & Kashi we have had another taster of what we will Be next season after they have left, a very poor lower half League 1 side. This is what 4 years of incompetence and neglect leaves you with. Finally, a word about Robinson. I was one of many at full time who stayed behind to jeer him off. He responded by fixing a big, sarcastic grin on his face as he walked off. An ugly turd of a man, and an equally sh1t manager.
According to the CAFC website the attendance today was 9,865 (including 105 away fans) I assume this is even further from the truth than these figures usually are. From the look of that picture it must have been fewer than 6,000. Even with the cold weather, that is shocking for a Saturday afternoon match.
From Albury Addick ..... Another dreadful performance Charlton were awful again today, playing a brand of football that is dull, boring, predictable, slow and ineffective. Against a team which has home crowds of 3,000, no history, no budget, hasn’t stopped the opposition from scoring since 2017, were hopeless too and are likely to get relegated to Division 4, Charlton were generally second best and on balance of clear cut chances, Fleetwood should have won. I don’t care how many coaching qualifications Karl has, but if playing Magennis again as the lone striker with Reeves as his deep lying mate was the wrong tactic as early as the 60th minute then as all the supporters would have told you when they saw the team sheet, it was also wrong in the 1st minute. Talk about flogging a dead horse. Although Zyro and Ajose don’t look much good either, they did, at least look like two conventional strikers and caused problems to Fleetwood with some decent link up play. I really like Karl and I think he is a decent, honest and straightforward person , but he needs to go now so that we can start to build for next season.
I know there are a few principled boycotters & a couple of part timers on here, but the attendance really had to be seen to be believed yesterday. The West Stand was the emptiest I had ever seen it, ditto the North Upper. Fleetwood brought 105 fans with them. You could have easily fitted the whole “crowd” yesterday into the West Stand and closed the other three. A club on it’s arse now the plastics and freeloaders have gone. Back to the Selhurst hardcore.
After coming out of my game I bumped into a couple of regulars waiting for the 54 bus to Blackheath. I was going balistic and questioning why they still go as Duchatelet has left us on our knees. All one of them could come up with is that he goes to supports the team! Unfortunately his view is probably echoed by the 6000 season ticket holders we still have
It’s a labour of love going to Charlton at the moment. There’s a big difference between the principled boycotters (on here) and the plastics & freeloaders.
It seems increasingly the case that RD is willing to let things drag on indefinitely by playing hard ball over the price.
