Hi MANX Early return from Scotland and about to catch up on the results and suchlike and do the final table. Had a real horror story of RAC recovery .. van still 660 miles north and might take 2 weeks to get here then has to be repaired. However! DID DO SOME STATS up there! Also a number enter and dont understand the scoring!!! SO ... when I put it together I wanted a compo that was KISS! ...LOL.. SCORE POINTS WINNER TAKES ALL. We are Bristol City so made them the focal point and most weeks on a Saturday is 8 games hence picking 4 other games one of which was the joker. second thing was make sure everyone scored points each week third was picking results with points allotted like 1 for home win 2 for away win 3 for a draw with 4 bonus if you got it 100% right third was to make sure everyone got something the total goals per game were added as points even if your forcast was wrong so thats how it works ............ next post I will give some hints!!!!!
Next post. STATS SHOW THAT a large number of enteries are missed ! so they get minimum scores. Also averaging their actual on time unmissed forcasts these "regular missing the forcast" could be amongst the the top 5!!!!! EVEN ACTUALLY COMING TOP! WHEN a number of games are put up in advance say Sat/ midweek/ Sat some do them one forcast at a time and invariably forget, so get minimum points. On something like 57% of those events a forcast before each game [ instead of say doing all three straight off ] avereages lower points than they normally get!! SO FORCAST and EDIT! SELECTIONS.. ONE HINT... 0 - 0 and 1 - 1 results are treated the same. Forcast 1-1 and its nil nil you get 2 points for the 2 goals 2 points for the draw [ 3-3 and above is 3 points ] and 3 points bonus [ 3-3 and above is 4 points ] so 1 - 1 = 7 points total , 0 - 0 no goals so you get 5 point!
