Yeah, I appreciate they're different. Siggy is much more of a team player, maybe too much so at times. Compared to the Michu of last season, there's no comparison at all. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if Michu kind of disappeared off the face of the earth - I'm worried that the ankle injury is a real niggler that will stick to him like glue. He never properly shifted it last season. Michu from 2 seasons ago was a great striker/goal scorer. Still not sure about him as a midfielder though.

Not to be too harsh on Michu because he was fantastic for us, I think Siggy is just the right shape for the right hole in our team. I kind of feel like Michu was shoehorned in as a striker and did it so well that he even earned a call up for the Spain squad as a striker. Maybe, for his sake, he should let this dream go that he prefers playing behind a striker, and just accept that he's a great striker himself and finish his career there. He'll always score goals.

Siggy fits our more direct style.
But I'd go Michu (fit) if we ever reverted to a passing & possession approach.

Is anyone keeping tabs on how he's doing at Napoli? After his dismissive attitude to the fans when he left I lost interest in the guy to be honest.

Using your team from earlier, I wouldn't leave either out.

Leon in, Gylfi in the hole (where he belongs, I believe he'd be wasted and out of his natural position playing from deep), and Michu upfront. Bony drops to the bench. I think Michu would thrive on Gylfi's vision. A fit Michu would make more telling runs, and would handle the ball into feet with more pace and purpose. A fit Michu also scores as many goals with his head as Bony does.

I just had a look. Six rounds have been played in Serie A. He's started two (subbed off at 70 mins each time) and came off the bench as a second half substitute in their first game. Unused substitute in the other 3 matches. No goals. Despite what some websites say, and having looked at the highlights, he didn't make an assist in his 20 mins of Europa league action (he just weirdly passed to a marked Higuain when he had a clear shot on goal 10 yards out - really bizarre decision if you see it), so that's no assists either.

http://youtu.be/6MZ7z072vOU?t=1m28s - the video is set to 1:28, the time of Michu's strange decision.

That pass had all the hallmarks of a player with zero confidence imo. Yet another in a long line of players who excelled with us but fizzled out elsewhere?

Yes me! He's only had 3 games and not doing that well, his value is dropping and stands around £7,5 Million. Not sure if this is relevant but I have heard he suffers with Bipolar, which would explain a lot........<ok>

PS: His first two games for Napoli he got 70+ minutes game time, but his last two games he played for them he got 5 and 12 minutes? which should tell you which way his career is heading. By the way Benítez is on the way out at Napoli so where that leaves Michu is anyone's guess, but he's not rated by the Napoli fans either.

Agree. I couldn't care less what he does either. The first couple of games I looked at, he was a bit part player.

I must admit I felt the same way, though having thought about it, he is still our player, and will be coming back at the end of the season, I cannot for the life of me see Napoli wanting Michu permanently...........<ok>

Didn't realise this, what happened re: dismissive attitude towards the fans?

Seems a shame as he was so loved and also seemed to love the fans back (when things were going well). Sounds like he could turn out to be the archetypal one season wonder.
