I agree. If he scores a decent number of goals (1 in 3 is still good) and helps out a lot then it's all gravy. I though you meant that he'd suddenly burst into life and start banging the goals in Bent-style.

Hah, FAR from it. I'm one of the mags who thinks that we won't see the same kind of performance if a player switches from Ligue 1 to the EPL. That's why I would have wanted a 15-20 goals a season Ligue 1 striker, because if he comes here and the goals do drop slightly due to the higher difficulty, at least he might still bag 10-12. It's what worried me about Erdinc, because he could barely manage 10-12 in Ligue 1 nevermind here.

Tbh you guys are lucky that Gyan has moved to a much tougher league and still managed to keep the same goalscoring record (or potentially even increase it, we'll have to see). That very rarely happens.

I do consider players like midfielders different to strikers though. A French striker has to deal with much tougher defences, so their goals will go down as a result. A midfielder only really has to deal with a better opposition midfield which gives him less space to work with and might be better at interceptions, so if they have the skill to retain possession and make good passes, then they can do well. I can just see it easier for a French midfielder to succeed here compared to a French striker.

I think there are more super-flops than there are Ronaldo's. One of our problems last season was some players let us down (such as Henderson FFS!) and this season Cabaye, Ba and Obertan have to find their feet fairly quickly so that you get an edge of confidence and comfort in the first 6 to 8 games -this is what will define your season. Our's too! For us it's Sessegnon and Gyan. .

Good luck on Saturday, then we'll see eh?

Well, Arsenal has been and gone, and let's just say it's a major relief. Well, sort of.

Cabaye - great. For a man who just had his very first EPL game against a top 4 side, he played very well and almost scored. A few niggles in his play, but they should get ironed out in time.

Obertan - Would you believe it, the guy was quite good! Amazing pace, good passes and set Cabaye up perfectly for his run-through. Maybe this is the quality we will see now he doesn't have the pressure of playing for Man Utd. He could start this weekend.

Ba - Not so great, but I'm hoping he's just still rusty and needs more game time. He was one of the players lagging on match fitness over pre-season. Then again, it might have been due to the partnership of Amoebi and Ba. Two target men like that shouldn't really work on paper, and it didn't vs Arsenal.

So, good and bad points. Let's just see if we can bring anyone in before the derby. Considering how Ameobi plays against you guys, I think a left back is the priority. We might also see Sammy Ameobi get a run out. You guys better hope he doesn't have that derby magic like his brother ;)

Are you blind? Or a helmet? Probably both.

Every assessment of Obertan in the Arsenal game has been positive. (And for anyone wondering, I watched a repeat of the second half and I agree with what everyone has said).

As for Ba, I've just said he didn't have a good game. That's why he was subbed.

Yup, blind and a helmet. Thought so.

1). Look at the 10 other people giving good reviews.

    2).

Did I state that enough times for you to absorb it?

gyan didnt get the support he needed and wont when we play 4411 as him and sess were always to far ahead of the rest of the team. he also didnt look fit and will always get pushed off the ball easily because he seems weak as water but on his day he will always be better than any strikers the skunks have!!!
