Guthrie to Villa !!!!

Smith is still a good player at Championship level (he was class in DM for us in 09/10 IMO) just his passing isn't great and he ain't the quickest so this gets exposed at a higher level, as we have found! I think he is a victim of Fergie changing his position, he was a class striker at Leeds and had his moments for Man Utd and England. I think he has struggled to adapt certain aspects of his game, if his positioning and reading of the game were better, he'd be a top top DM, others have shown you don't need to be a great passer or have great pace to play in midfield, eg Gattuso, Barry, Makelele

 

It's common sense. If we didn't have injuries and we could rely on the fat one actually spending some of the money, then I doubt anyone would shed a tear over Guthrie's departure.

And it's funny but unsurprising how he's suddenly put in a couple of good games now his contract's about up.
