If he wants away then he must be put up for transfer in January,i don't want to lose him but to see him go for zero pounds in the summer would be criminal, and im sure he would be worth at least 5 million, thoughts please.

We'd get nothing like 5 mill with his contract up in June. He could wait until the summer and get a real good personal deal abroad with no transfer fee involved.

I think City are shafted with this one just like the Ledley departure to Celtic. To be honest I don't think Gunnar would want to go in January anyway - and we can't make him.

Don't think you could begrudge Gunnar a pay day for moving. Frustrating to lose him for nothing buts that the way since bosman.

He can sign a pre-contract agreement in Jan anyway.

A win / win would be him scoring the goal that seals promotion. He can get a big signing on fee elsewhere and we benefit from the TV millions.

I think we got him on a free transfer so not too bothered about him going free in the summer.

If he was on a 5 year contract we wouldnt get 5m for him.

I agree - sell - if we can.

He's stated he wants to play until the end of the season and, if we get promoted he'd want to stay with us. I don't think we'd need to question his commitment as it will be plain to see on the pitch. He's had the balls to let NW know well in advance that he's off if we don't get promoted. So, the dilemma for NW is, do we get a replacement in January.

The problem Warnock has will Gunnarsson be good enough for the Prem, I'm not sure he is.
