That is what the Spurs fans refer to themselves as, although the club are apparently trying to stop it. Using the term as a pejorative is offensive to many and should be avoided in the same way as other terms aren't used to describe groups of ethnic or cultural diversity are not appropriate in a multicultural society.
'Yid' is the Hebrew word for Jew. Hence the word Yiddish. Nothing racist here.

Brizzy, it's like a lot of things it is context that may or may not make the use of a word offensive. Millwall as used to describe an area of London/ Middlesex is quite innocuous but used as a term in football it is highly offensive and inappropriate.
