Just switched on my old PC which runs Windows XP, and because support for XP has now ended, it's unprotected and already showing signs of disease. Trying to figure out the best way to go about protecting it now. Anyone?

Microsoft's advice is fantastic: get Windows 8! If your PC can't run Windows 8, get a new PC! Thanks, Microsoft, that's great.

Well, Vettel is confirmed for sucking in the F1 this year. Being outqualified by his team-mate for the third time this year. YAY!

Not sure but I have Windows 7 and it's still updating and running smoothly. I'd rather have a diseased XP than a clean 8 though. Can you not just run a clean up program and stay on top of the firewall and anti virus updates?

If you don't already have it, get AVG.

Image your hard drive in a healthy state on CD (assuming you probably don't have the space to create a partition for the backup). Test it and make sure it works, perhaps make a couple copies to be safe. You then have a backup whenever **** goes bad, and any important stuff thereafter should be put on a thumbdrive.

Install Microsft Security Essentials or some 3rd party protector. Do a full scan. Your XP won't be in any appreciable trouble yet.

MSE is the problem. No support for it any more. I've had to resort to installing Avast.

Yes there is. It's the same version that is in Vista and 7. I have a computer working with MSE right now.

Today, while hyping up the giant crowd that had gathered outside the Air Canada Centre before a playoff game between the Toronto Raptors and Brooklyn Nets (the Raptors' first trip to the playoffs in six years, against a hated divisional rival no less), Toronto's mild-mannered general manager Masai Ujiri got a little too excited, leading to this:

That's Masai yelling "**** Brooklyn" before handing off the microphone and striding triumphantly off-stage. Now my greatest regret from the Cortese era is that we will never get the image of him yelling "**** West Ham" before a cup match.

Don't know why, but there's always been something about Natalie Dormer's face that puts me off.

Yeah at first I thought she was obviously beautiful but with a slightly odd quality and not that amazing, but of late I have definitely been very susceptible to her allure.

The slight weirdness of her face is one of the reasons I like her so much.

I'm not really sure what is weird looking about her. But whatever it is, I like it.
