I guessed that but it isn't obvious unless you chase back through the threads if you know what I mean.
I am one of Guly's biggest fans but any player should get his contract immediately terminated if they are caught drink driving

Yeah! Anyone charged with any crime should be fired from their jobs with immediate effect. Zero tolerance rules
I'd be firing any of my employees straight away if they were caught drink driving. I don't see why it should be different for footballers
Jesus , you may have trouble doing that legally if it driving is not a requirement of their position ,
What does that have to do with anything? Guly is in a position where he acts as a role model for young people. Negative role models are not something that the club should want. It's something I've come to expect of football. You see things like the Suarez-Evra case and wonder what on earth Liverpool were thinking sticking up for him. Then the biggest of all the John Terry situation where he is even still England captain, beyond idiotic from the FA.
I think the law should be changed to make it illegal to have any alcohol before driving. I like Guly as a player, but I think he should face a stiff penalty if found guilty (though what that is is not for me to say). As for the club taking action, I would suggest that given a football club's prominence in the community action should be taken to make it clear that this behaviour is not acceptable (using Guly as an example), but this might take the form of charity work, education in schools etc.
So your employees are role models , that's great at the sane time real life and situations come along .
Drink-driving of any sort is wrong, but until we know how much he is over the limit, then we should really hold off the bashing. I haven't personally seen any mention of how much he was over the limit, although if he was driving erratically then it would suggest he would be a fair bit over. To suggest he should have his contract terminated is ludicrous if he hasn't actually harmed anyone. A fine and a warning would be sufficient from the club in my opinion. As for his court appearance, the maximum punishment that he could face includes points on his licence, a fine, a driving ban or even up to 6 months in jail. Again it depends on what sort of numbers they're dealing with and perhaps how co-operative he was.
For things like speeding where you get a fixed penalty and points, fair enough, but drink driving is a recordable criminal offence so would show up on a CRB check. I would think an employer is able to make a decision to no longer employ someone who gets a criminal record.
i know someone who was 6 and a half times over the limit, crashed in to sign post ripped off his plates and fled the scene. Was given 2 year suspension from driving, 12 points, £650 fine ( for damage ) and 100 hours community service. So its safe to say it will be less than that and he wont see any jail time at all...
Any contract drawn up by someone who didn't learn law from watching Ally McBeal will allow the employer to terminate the contract if the employee is convicted of a criminal offence.
