I started to learn the classical guitar over 40 years ago and I still have (and play) the guitar I was learning with. My tutor in those days used to play Requerdos de la Alhambre, lovely tune. I could play a bit of it but it was too difficult. I found not being able to sight read a major hindrance and it took far too long to learn a new piece. So I gave it up. I just play chords now. I also have an electric guitar I have some fun with. My favourite guitarists are: John Williams Mark Knoffler Eric Clapton

I have lots of guitars , acoustics, electrics and a resonator. I also play bass ( which is obviously very easy as its a guitar for the ******ed ) , can play a bit of piano and the mandolin, also excellent on both the 5-string and the hairy banjo.
Guitar - Been playing for about 28 years, I'm still learning. Rock n Roll ie: Johnny Cash, The Clash, Roy Orbison type stuff etc Mandolin - 8 years, Not bad. Irish Folk Harmonica - 7 years, Good. Irish Folk, Blues, Church hymns ( not religious though ) Tenor Banjo - several months, Not bad. Irish Folk Favourite guitarists David Gilmour, Brian Setzer, Mick Jones, Angus Young, Mick Ronson.
I've been playing guitar and bass since I was about 13 or 14 I think. I've got an American Fender Jazz Highway One Bass, a Tokai Love Rock TJ78 Guitar, a Fender Duo Sonic, a Tanglewood acoustic, and several cheaper naff guitars and basses just for kicks. Several pedals too that I can't be arsed to go through. That's for anyone who actually cares about different guitars and such, as much as I do.
I've been playing for about 5-6 years now. Still have my old Dean ML, and i'd consider myself a solid rhythm guitarist, crap lead guitarist. Every time i solo, i get lost half way through it, and end up playing the wrong thing entirely. Favourite guitarists; Dimebag Darrell (Pantera), Chuck Schuldiner (Death), Alex Skolnick (Testament), Dave Mustaine (Megadeth), Ace Frehley (Kiss), Jeff Hanneman (Slayer)
I have played for about 10 years now. I started out on the old pop rock tabs but you dont truely test yourself until you start trying to jam along to death metal, thats when you really find yourself out
