Bumped. Had a good look around for a guitar, weighed up the bank balance vs my stumpy fingers and opted for a decent but not so expensive Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus Top. Lots of grunt and gadgets for a £400 fake Gibby. http://www.epiphone.com/Products/Electrics/Les-Paul/Les-Paul-Standard-Plustop-PRO.aspx Was very nearly tempted to get a real Gibson, their cheapest starter model was £650 but as I can't even play more than three chords at the moment it seemed too much of a jump. Tried out some of the cheaper Epiphones and they looked and sounded as though they were made out of chipboard. The guitar I've gone for has got super-duper new Pro-Bucker pups and a AAA maple cherry sunburst pattern on the top. Felt chunky but with a slim neck to fit my sausage-like digits. You wait, in 30 years time I will be able to play Wild Thing like a pro.
I might serenade their deaf 16 year old sisters, the 11 year olds could watch and take notes whilst wearing ear plugs. "Your Mother's Deaf"
Epiphone are pretty underrated, I've got one ( tobacco sunburst Lp that's about 25 years old now) that is a dream to play. Replaced the pick ups and did a bit of adjustment here and there, would make even a bass player sound like Duanne Allman...
The worst lager I can remember tasting was Arctic Lite. The first ever Acid house track was an advert!
I have an Epiphone Thunderbird IV bass, great guitar for the money, best set up I've seen on a guitar.
