I suppose if HiaG played on the moon he would have the entire population of the moon as an audience.

Walked out of a Clapton gig in Hyde Park years ago, he was that ****ing dull. I was there to see Bob Dylan so wasn't all bad.

The solo may not sound much, but the sound he gets from bending the notes is intentional - and not easy to do.

I'll leave the technique to you musicians, the incredible thing for me was the emotion he got out of the guitar. The original recording is mesmerising and the greatest Beatle track of all to me. Getting Clapton to play on it was an inspired decision. Harrison was no slouch, but obviously thought Clapton added something else.
He's a very dull man now that he is sober. His playing is still great though. As dull as he is, I would still love to hear him play.

He even went as far as playing the slow version of Layla, I could have fallen asleep. Technical ability is **** all with out some kind of drive and passion.

Personally, I’ve always generally felt that Clapton’s stuff after Cream is/was boring. In 1998 I went to see him and Bonnie Raitt (his opening act) put on twice the show he did.

This shows how good Brian Gibson is. Starts ripping it up after about a minute.

Not a Beatles fan myself, I can't describe what it is with their tone of music but it just irritates the hell out of me, i just don't feel the soul within it. It just comes across as a repetitive negative drone.

By the way, I'm not purposely trying to insult their music or anyone that likes it, purely about opinions, but i know when NSIS first put up the 'My guitar weeps gently' clip i dropped out of the convo. Very musically talented guys, but just plays havoc with my senses to see the positives in it. World known class act but i've always purposely avoided music with that Beatles undertone for want of better words.
