I think I'm ready for a bombardment of abuse but can someone tell me what Ridsdale has actually done wrong regarding PAFC. Despite his chequered past at Leeds and Cardiff, I still believe that OK he's got himself back on the football map but he's done nothing to suggest to me that he hasn't got a desire to lead us back to better things. Am I naive, too trusting, thick.... ( I know I said it!)
No bombardment from me greens. I have asked that question myself previously and as of yet nobody had an answer apart from some gut feeling. Whilst gut feeling can be right, it can also be wrong and until I see something tangeable that people can actually put their finger on and state then he continues to get the benefit of the doubt from me.
Peter Ridsdale has at present done nothing wrong at PAFC,he gets my support until proven otherwise. He recognized the disaster that was overtaking Argyle and rolled his sleeves up and got stuck-in.
Maybe they do, maybe they don't. It doesn't really matter to me. He know's something about football which is more than can be said for our previous fleecers. At least we still have a club ( for the moment ) and right now I would swap places with Cardiff or Leeds. They will not be visiting morcombe this year !!
Leopards don't change their spots.............what you need to ascertain is who decided that he was a Leopard.........and was there opinion unbiased. As I said before.........until proven otherwise..........I shall not condemn him. I'm glad that he still soldiers on.....even though some give him abuse..........but he realizes that in football management you can't please everyone......but one day it could be the final straw to break the camels back (or something like that).........and that might be a bad thing for Argyle at present.
Agreeing with Plymborn I can only refer back to december 10 when he arrived. Working for free as an advisor he kicked out the worthless Todd and tried his best over the course of the second part of last season to keep the club afloat. Now he has helped Reid build a squad of players thay we can field to play today. Despite his past Ridsdale has done more in a few months to help the club than the last board were doing over the last two seasons with this World Cup bid fiasco. If anyone should be blamed for our current situation it should be the PB BIL who have failed over the last month to complete the sale or supply the funds they promised. Not an Ideal beginning.
PAFC will cost him far more than a pound.......Mrs Bar Manager.........so please behave........or Mrs Reid might have to take action..........in a very friendly way of course.
It was obvious that he would be here to get something out of it, but even though he has brought the club for £1 its not like he is going to get a huge profit from us this season. We will be lucky to finish £1million in the red this term. I understand the comments you have made previously GAT but until he steps out of line we should not slate him. BIL are the ones holding things up. Ridsdale has done well I feel to get us this far.
At present Peter Ridsdale is part of PAFC's management team, we need to support him because Argyle are depending on his management skills to see us through this season. It's no good getting behind the team and not the management.
I just wish people would drop this "Ridsdale is set to make a fortune" stance in all this. The club is worth in value less than he will acquire it for. It is not presently a going concern and will only become one again if he is successful in what he does. If he doesn't do the right thing then he will even lose his pound. Why on earth do people think Argyle as a business is worth money? If he eventually makes a profit then it will mean he has left us in a far far better position than is currently the case so to be blunt he will deserve every penny he gets.
