It certainly sounds like he should be performing better than he is then. I'm not sure how he can blame Monk for his own inability when he does get game time though.
I think the truth is that he is finding the premiership harder than he thought and certainly harder than the French league. Bony needed time but gomis looks as if he needs much longer. Reports are that he works well in training and its just one of them psychological things of trying too hard. We really need him to start scoring now though. His record is very good so he knows where the net is but some players just find premiership football to fast and have trouble connecting sweetly instead of that half a yard to late where you miss hit the ball....I think he will get there eventually...
Well all I got to say on Gomis is this, I don't think he is good enough for us at this level, and I do not see him hitting the back of the net, and that is going to make Monks job more difficult second half of the season, trouble is Monk is still a Rookie, and will still be until he has at least 2 or 3 seasons under his belt, how he will resolve this Gomis situation is anyone's guess, but if I was him, I would give Gomis a few more games and if he has still not hit the back of the net, then I would bench him, and use Emnes to lead the line. With Siggy out for 3 games it will be interesting to see who Monk puts in there as a temporary replacement, but for me it would be Emnes.
I agree DPJ. Emnes would be a good fit with Gomis. We'd have to work to tell them apart, but if it confuses us think of what it would do for the other team. Seriously though, I think we're going to have to deal with Shelvey. If Monk played Emnes in preference I'd be surprised.
