Baines played in the Everton - Man U game too! It amazes me that Cole gets picked consistently ahead of him!

Like Capello, doing a very good job and he was exactly where he should have been on Saturday in my opinion.

It's difficult to decide which would go up in smoke faster, this effigy or the England team in the Euros...

Anyone else worried about Redknapp becoming the next boss? I can see a rapidly aging Terry leading us for another 6 or so years, Lampard goal-hanging and occasionally doing that weird slo-mo-disco-run and us having more of the little/big-man strike force which has got us precisely nowhere for 45 years...

How did him being at Chelsea-Arsenal benefit his job? All he was going to see was players he already knows about (Cole, Lampard, Terry, Walcott) along with one player he seems determined not to call up (Sturridge).
There were other games with a higher proportion of potential England players.
Or he could have been brave and ventured north of Liverpool for a change.

Going to watch some top English players all in with a chance of getting in his squad maybe? Sorry I think you are misunderstanding his role. He (and his assistants) have to go and watch all players, experienced, potential or otherwise. They have to monitor their form, monitor signs of deterioration etc. Look at Terry, he wouldn't have fallen flat on his face a year ago when trying to turn. In terms of monitoring Capello is one of the best. Well known for leaving no stone unturned. People focus way too much on which games Capellos at to be honest. Its mentioned some weeks, its not others. Why? Because they probably don't always know when he's at a match. And they certainly won't be checking for the likes of Baldini or Pearce. I'll judge him on results, and Capellos stack up against just about any other England manager. I'd imagine his record against the elite international will be average. But that is little to do with him and more to do with those teams having better, more tactically estute players.

Cannot believe he got appointed Wales manager after his dreadful performance at SheffUtd, literally does not compute.
I suppose he's a legend on account of his caps though.

But as far as I can tell every single England fan is screaming at him that it's not working! He can watch Terry and Lampard all he wants, but for whatever reason every time either of them pull on an England shirt it's like someone flipped a magic "make them ****" switch. What should be happening instead is him causing competition for places, Parker did an excellent job in place of Lampard last time he played so let's keep them both on their toes - apparently Bradley "I used to play for Leeds" Johnson is currently on the verge of an England call-up, which is a start I guess but it needs to happen all over the team, otherwise:
Capello's record is not to be argued with, what IS are the abject performances we put in. Drawing against Montenegro, failing to score against Algeria, scraping through by the skin of our teeth at the World Cup, all of which were the result of choosing the same complacent (and/or slightly injured) players who have failed time and time again. Let's see the new generation brought through; Wilshere, Hart, Richards et al.
