Rogers is getting all sorts of heat this morning from the pundits and press. 1-0 is a great result with anybody on the field. Although the shots on target were lop sided in favor of Madrid, it could have been worse. What was Rogers' strategy?
Presumably he felt the game at the Bernabeu was a lost cause whatever team he fielded, therefore he would play a weak side and rest key players for an assault on Liverpool's remaining 2 Champions League games, their Premier League position and the League Cup which they may now target as a good (only?) way of getting back into Europe next season.
