I wonder what his thinking is behind Walcott, he's had a miserable last couple of years. Maybe his dad works for the FA.
I was thinking about this squad situation this morning, I'm wondering if it's something to do with sponsors wanting the biggest names to be advertising their brands, i.e. Rooney big name and despite being useless most weeks selected yet again over anyone who is in form. P.S. Delighted Defoe isn't involved, we should give him as much time off as possible through the season to keep himself fit.
Rooney is playing well. Far better than the crap being shown by players like lallana Kane and Walcott.
He's as good as anybody else, at the moment. I was just thinking along the lines of it's just the same old, same old. I honestly thought Sam would shake things up a bit, but when I seen the squad... obviously not.
Who were you expecting to see? I must admit I am surprised with a few but I think the biggest changes will be on the pitch.
Not exactly sure, mate. I just thought he'd bring in at least 3 or 4 newbies to the squad. After I seen the squad, I never thought about who would be captain. I just assumed he'd go with Rooney. That doesn't disappoint me, it doesn't get me thrilled either. It's just, meh. Nowts changed.
Like I said mate apart from one or two I really didn't see an issue with the squad, it was all Hodgson. I don't think I'd change the squad too much from the one he's picked, we are lacking badly in one or two areas, such as CM which is pretty desperate, I'd love to see Wilshere put in a full season but we all know that won't happen. The rest are just ok, nobody good enough to control the midfield. You look at the U-21's and there's nothing in there either, which is a shame. I don't expect to see too many changes on the pitch yet either, he's only had a few days with his squad, so I expect a boring showing from the team again.
