If you knew anything about the subject, you'd know that Rijkaards side was in disarray & hadn't won anything for 2 seasons before he was sacked. Guardiola changed the style of play but more importantly the attitude of the dressing room - from a side of over bloated egos, to a genuine team who respected their place in a Barcelona TEAM.
I have to laugh when I hear the word "challenge" in this context. He may not have used the word himself but if he did then perhaps he should try QPR or Reading( no offence, guys). City or Chelsea aren't a challenge- they're a pay packet.
If you knew anything leave your emotions out of this, that was an emotionally driven comment Repressed anger issues So the new guy must be better than Pepe by that logic, no one said he didn't improve Barca but.. it had gone tits up under the previous manager so they could only get better with the players they had and Pepe got better players in whilst getting rid of egos true, being at Barca so long had nothing to do with his success and ideas? a lot of which he had before even taking the job based on what he was seeing while being at the club, a manager coming in from the outside has a bigger initial task of bedding down in that respect. It is important to remember, Xavi Messi Inestia and many other players have also improved significantly in that time which is not really down to Pepe. Messi is twice the player he was under Rijkaard so there are many details that are important that you will easily leave out.
I think we should wait for the next 'American' Guardiola... Our very own Bluff Barbar City of rosa dream.
Guardiola actually changed everything about how they played, they didn't play that way under Rijkaard he then passed it on to his assistant manager who part of the way Guardiola structured the way they play, I suppose I could liken it to when Bill Shankley built Liverpool and then resigned he passed it to Bob Paisley and then Liverpool improved and kept on improving and then Joe ***an took over etc, but at the end of the day who was the best out of those? Bill Shankly as he structured Liverpool to a different way of doing things and then Liverpool continued that same as Barcelona really the only thing is that I would say one of those European Cups should belong to Shankly as he built the dynasty that was to dominate for 20 odd years. And before anyone says it was different as Liverpool were in the 2nd Division yes you are probably correct but Barcelona hadn't won anything for 2 years which is a long time in modern football for a club of Barca's size.
15:45 GMT: BREAKING: Bild reporting that Pep Guardiola will take over Bayern Munich at the end of the season when current manger Jupp Heynckes retires. The reports are gathering a lot of pace, as Munich look set to sign the ex-Barcelona manager.
I didnt bother after that, waste your time why done you. What is it about you ******s that you start a post like that? I'll never read your sh!t if you start it like that now go off and read web page and then regurgitate the new info on here as if its your knowledge
He should be able to do well at Bayern, good players there, good youth players there, probably look to get more youth players in the pipeline, has money, CL,status, etc.
Ditto, never mind. We'll be seeing how good he is soon enough and then we can either laugh at each other or agree
Bayern Munich, just hired Pep Guardiola as their coach, are 82% owned by their supporters. V cheap tickets to watch them. A lot of similarities with barca on the ownership part.
Somewhere in West London there is a russian football club owner who's really pissed off please log in to view this image
Like I said on the chav board, Pep dodged a bullet there. Roman was so desperate to get him, constant offers and even got Benitez talking about Pep. Well done for chosing a better team and better league Pep.
