A brilliant read, always loved the guy: https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...nchester-united-fa-cup-final?CMP=share_btn_tw
I was not convinced when we signed him and duly gave him some undeserved stick from the stands. He proved me wrong and I changed my opinion very quickly. Good pro is "Jigsaw"
Great article that. I wish there were more like him around. I remember him not being popular at first and was a bit of a loose canon but his attitude and character soon turned opinion round in his favour. I also remember his sudden bursts up the pitch and have just found a clip of the Rochdale goal he scored back in 2004. We definitely just have hung on to him instead of selling. I would love it if he scored the winner today.
He was OK for City, but always had an error in him. Shame on our so-called fans who reduced him to tears. Fell by the wayside in the Championship for us. Discovered by Colin Murphy, he's had an unusual career trajectory and a very long one, where he looks like he will finish at the top and a very rich man. Good luck to the feller
Attitude and character - two great words that sum up all those players who made the best of their, sometimes limited, abilities.
He's a nice fella, used to bump into him in Beverley quite a lot when he was starting out with us, that Rochdale goal is quality
Agree great pro and great chap, but at the time don't remember too many people been too disappointed when he left. Felt sorry for the lad been played at left back under Parky, he didn't know what to do!! Great to see him play in an FA cup final! Is he a city legend/great probably not but as most fans would probably say great to see him doing well!!
Started out at left back initially but didn't look comfortable , so him at his best when switched to centre half. Scored the last goal at BP by a HC player too .
He looked like a Donkey initially because he was played at left back if my memory is right, and a left back he never was or will be, when he was put in his rightful position at centre back he improved but i concur, tended to have a calamity in him, little like McShane tbh.
Wow, I'd forgotten about the Bristol Rovers goal...the Rochdale is one of my favourites, I bet Bo has never run so far to celebrate!
Great article on one of my all-time favourite City players. Never understood the stick he got from some in his early days with us. So pleased to see him a regular at Palace. Just sad that he wasn't walking up the stairs at Wembley today to collect a Cup Winners medal. Thanks for the memories Damo!
