http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21589392 I totally agree with everything GT says on this subject, because it make a massive imbalance all round, we have to suffer with second rate loanee's while Swindon supporters have to suffer wondering if they will go bankrupt at any time because their board spends too lavishly and puts a financial strain on their club!....Now if every team was owned by its supporters with an elected representative board these problems wouldn't be half as bad and most teams could operate within their own budget making it (excuse the pun) a level playing field.. ....the amount and of time energy and expense i have spent just this season alone watching half the players who clearly aren't good enough to put on a Shrewsbury shirt, and the other half who don't even belong to us, put on what sometimes can only be described as a Sunday league performance is just not acceptable ....for my entrance fee i want to be part feel part of this club and i want to support OUR players...so lets either kick these so called money men chairpersons out of football or make the FA change the rules to make it even all round!!....but GT...lets get a bit of a youth policy going too...please
 
KDS is this a Shrewsbury Town debating site ?...or is it, you ain't got anything to say anymore that's worth hearing...?
 
It's very much a debating site and it makes it more interesting a read, generates more repsonses when it is... as long as all "add" to the debate. B&A for example has some good stuff on there, but this is often overidden by the bully-boy knock down tactics of a minority.

As my initial reply suggests, neither have you.

AJ, One could say that Swansea are a successful example but the Supporters Trust only has a 20% stake. At the other end of the scale Telford and Ebbsfleet struggle, the former because the trust cannot afford to go full time (20 of the 24 are full time). Chester have also just announced that they will not be able to go full time when they are promoted to the BSP.
 
exeter were going ok until getting relegated last season. still with jamie curetons 19 goals so far this season, they may go up again.

Again does it matter if your club has part time players or not?, so long as the team is successful!!.....better that than having a ruck of loane'es that have no real affiliation to the club they are loaned to or on many occasions not wanted by the club who they belong too!!......you know. like the ones that we have, and have had in the past...and as I have said many many times it doesn’t guarantee you success on the field but give you a you a bloody good edge as ALL money's go to team building and not to directors wages and bonuses....Ive just returned from the Bescot and mate, iv'e seen better part time players playing for Bala Town than what we had out there today...a truly gutless performance!!
 
I know which choice I would make. All those clubs with Supporter ownership have one thing in common in that they have all gone bust or close to. Consequently it has been a hard road back, if at all. I would rather take a greater chance with an owner, knowing that the odds are in favour of some success compared with the minority of clubs that have entered administration.
 
call me old fashioned, but i prefer a healthy bank balance a succesdsful board and chairman to a previously failed club now owned by its supporters. financial stability is everything no matter how obtuse the chairman is about clipart matters.
 
There are no part time footballing teams outside of the conference and those in it are struggling. How do you attract high quality players to a squad if they have to get another job, it just won't happen.

Wrexham and Chester ...not now successful?????.....KDS, you’ve obviously missed the fact that the reason why these clubs have gone bust in the past, is the that their owners were either crooks or bad business people......that’s why the supporters have said enough is enough!!....Look at some of the Wrexham directors now, a wealth of experience, two accountants (one who was part of the insolvency team of Begbie Traynor that saved the club from going out of existence) and some guy who has just sold his business in America for 130 million, all none paid and doing it for the love of club!!....and if the supporters think they are doing a rubbish job they can vote and kick them out at the end of the season, Democracy!!.....and AJ if you were like me sitting in that stadium on Saturday freezing your gonads off watching that rubbish, knowing that Rowland will be driving off in his Bentley soon with his cheque book stuffed even further down the inside of his inner silk lined pocket, you would start to ask the question...is this really the right way forward!! ..
 
As Jenny would say why don't you go and support Wrexham.......again!!!. A supporters trust that cannot be arsed to update their fund raising target since December on their website and was then less than half of their target for the end of this season. (They need you). I, personally, am fed up with your continually knocking of our club. As I said I would rather take the historically greater chance of us not going into administration with an owner. Of the current 92 clubs only 13 have gone into administration or would have if it existed at that time (Eg. Leicester). Odds in my favour.
 
much as i must sypathise with the temperature of tinned hat's gonads, i still prefer a healthy bank balance over stupidity and ambition. much as i like town to be in league 1, there is a lot to be said for being a top 8 club in league 2, than a struggling club in L1

we can but hope the squad may be permanently strengthened next summer, and roland may come back from the west indies and shake a little cash.

even in deepest devon i cannot face another season of loanees. if that were to happen, it may be time to rearrange the management deckchairs on hms freezinggonads
 
If history repeats itself (and it usually does) then with GT we get loanees, they go together like Darby and Joan! Now we come to a leopards and spots comment (too many metaphors today); they don't change spots so unless there is a cunning Baldric-like plan to buy any of the good ones at the end of their spells then the good ship HMS Loan is already sailing and cant be stopped.
By the way, are any loanees worth buying, which ones and how much? Answers in this thread or on a postcard to Roland.

KDS, how very disappointed i am with you, as like Jenny you have abandoned all reasoning and debate(all though very weak) and instead reverted to name slagging ...which is very easy to do when backed in a corner, but unfortunately will only put yourself in a very bad light with other genuine posters, just like Jenny did(and see what happened to her, she could give it,but couldn’t take it)....KDS, I must admit I expected much better of you, yes I support our club and I also support grass roots football too, and im sick to the teeth of us having such a raw deal, while the likes of Rowland dines out on our entrance fee and leaves GT to forage and scrounge for other teams unwanted players. And I can knock our club as much as I want when I think that things could be done a lot better, I pay my entrance fee....why should I pay to watch other teams players...play badly?....we are quite capable of getting crowds of over 6000, but it looks like Rowlands ambition is on the same level as AJ's, a mid table 2nd division team!!.....with plenty of money in Rowlands own bank.....not for me mate....KDS our support is the same only some are lead like sheep, and others want to speak out.....so come on KDS lets shake hands and carry on having constructive debates...no more name calling eh, we don’t want to end up like girls....do we?
