An early start for an exciting day. I set off at 3am from the gaff for the 8.30 flight to Copenhagen. Malmo v Elfsborg in the Swedish Allsvenskan was my destination for a 17.30 k/off, plenty of time to meet my Elfsborg mates to watch the Doncaster game. As my flight was late getting in I arrived in the boozer five minutes before we scored, great timing.
Elfs there are six more pictures still to post from the batch you sent me a week ago - these look like they are from a rather more low-key game. Can you remind me who it was, and who they were playing?
Malmo's ground is about 10 years old, by Swedish standards this is a decent ground, very similar to IFK Gothenburg's who I went to in October. Malmo beat Elfsborg 4-1, a score that flattered Malmo as Elfsborg played for 60 minutes with ten men, Malmo scoring two goals in the last 3 minutes. Mr Lardiman.
This was a fantastic hop, one of the best of the season. Reading the local paper, I discovered this Division 4 South game being played the following day of the Malmo game. Sandareds play just outside of Boras(where Elfsborg play), about 50 kilometres out of Gothenburg. An awful lot of grounds outside of the Allsvenskan(the top division) play with a running track, but this one was very picturesque and had massive character. The match ended 2-0 to Sandareds in front of a very respectable crowd of about 100.
Absolute quality this one was mate. I much prefer grounds like this, more than going to Malmo the previous day.
