For a population of around 17,000 it is strange to find 3 non-league clubs playing in the town. Biggleswade FC share with the landlords Biggleswade Town. Biggleswade lost 2-1 to Colney Heath in the Spartan South Midlands Premier League. This was a blow to Biggleswade as they were 3rd with games in hand on the top two. Having said that, I saw Colney Heath beat London Colney a few weeks back and they looked a decent side, around 7th in the table. I was able to take some decent pics before going in as I was able to get a raised view overlooking a tidy little ground with a main stand and two decent covered terraces. The club house was nice, but a shame they did not open up until 14.15...................by the physio! A VERY middle class England is Harrogate, I am now making plans to buy a property to spend more time here in the summer weekends. This place is very me. The pubs up here were first class and very reasonably priced given the area. We did not venture into The Den pub!
Harrogate are flying in the play-offs and Maidstone are way adrift waiting for Conference South football next season. Maidstone put up a cracking show to finish the game 2-2, a poor crowd of 1,100 made up of a very decent following from Kent of about 60. This is one of THE best I have done this season, a mixture of many different stands made up of the old and the new, an absolute cracker. The upwardly mobile Elf will do Harrogate Railway next season once I have purchased the 'summer flat'.
@baraettmattesvensson My son tells me that Bromley are charging £20 for a ticket v Maidstone What’s all that about ?
They must have upped the price. It's normally £18 on the day or £15 in advance. Yesterday I paid a more sensible £3 for my game.
Harrogate have a very odd looking ground - it looks as if they have been buying stands from other clubs and sticking them in a jumble around the pitch. Doesn't seem to be doing the team any harm though. Bromley should be fun with their tribe of palace wannabe's.
It is a mess of stands that does have a quirkiness. Well worth a visit, unlike Bromley for reasons given by your good self.
No Charlton supporter should follow Bromley!... it's just plain wrong … they are Palarse through and through.
