Been had over at the turnstile. Admission, programme and badge cost £11. The geezer was very chatty and saw I was taking pics and asked if this was my first visit. I told him what I was doing and he said find him at 1/2 time and he'll get a beer in. I know why, the 'club shop' behind the bar told me I should been charged £9.50! To cap it all the girl serving me tried to give me a quid less. Northern peasants
I hope the weather was OK up there Elfs, it was pretty grim in West London at around 3pm. I guess heavy downpours and the like can get many a non-league game called off at short or no notice...
Good of you to post this Royston. I realise travelling fans will be well advanced in their journeys by then, but it's better to be aware of potential problems. #helpfulmoderator (I am assuming you're not yanking Elfs' chain)
Update from those who have seen the pitch at Mansfield- only a 5% chance of the game going ahead today #wastedjourney
Where is the information coming from about the pitch inspection at Mansfield Royston? I cannot find any mention of a pitch inspection on the CAFC or MTFC websites, or on CL or anywhere else on the net using g**gle to search. Is it on twitter or facebook? I'll confess I don't use either of those.
I fear you are right DickPlumb. Unfortunately other people read these things and (in my case) take them at face value. You're in charge Royston of course, but if you are posting fake news (that looks credible at first) just to wind Elfs up, nobody is going to give any credibility to things you post when you are telling the truth. #modwhocriedwolf
I'm the butt of your gag Royston, not elfs... #mugwhopostedpitchinspectionnewsonITTV More fool me - I should know you better by now
He gets me every time. My only defence M'lud is that I was trying to spread what I thought was helpful news to other Charlton fans. Glad I didn't get round to posting it on CL as well!
