It could be bloody 50,000 and Fernandes wouldn't wear it. The term "Brentford" has all the international cache of Delboy's motor...
Thanks for the link Col. Further details of Brentfordâs new stadium actually went up this week as part of a consultation with residents and further details can be found at: http://www.chiswickw4.com/default.asp?section=info&page=brentfordstadiumpics001.htm Personally, Iâm pretty open to the idea of shared stadia in general (it works in Italy). However, sharing with Brentford would be the wrong move for a whole number of reasons. The proposed new Brentford stadium is going to have a maximum capacity of 20k, only fractionally (1.7k) bigger than Loftus Road. From the planning images they have released of the development, the whole project is aimed more at allowing the council to build some new high-rise residential buildings than it is focused on creating a new stadium, which seems to be more of a side thought. It would be absolutely crazy for QPR to move out there, further away from central London, with far worst travel links, to a stadium almost the same size as LR, at which we would only be tenants (rather than owners). Plus, as Swords has alluded to already, they properly hate us. I donât know how many of you have actually been down to Griffin Park, but a big proportion of the fans down there pretty much base their whole identity on hating QPR. Given that we barely think about them at all, itâs a little bit sad really, and that is the reason why Iâm wary of going overboard about hating Chelsea (justified though that often can be!). Iâd rather follow a team with a positive identity about who they are themselves, then one based upon hating others. U Rs!!
My Son went to the Brentford v Chelsea cup game, Brentford fans spent most of the game singing that they hate us more than Chelsea do,
Not since the 1888 Local Government Act we haven't been, but then again Brentford hasn't been either since creation of the GLC in 1965. A great fact to tell Spurs fans though, they were the first team in Middlesex to do the double in 1961. Arsenal were the first in London to do it though. I've always been a Surrey cricket fan though! Going back to Brentford's stadium, I can't recall where I read that they had a 12k stadium being built - I thought it was the Standard/Metro. 15k seems more sensible for them.
As I understand it, we have the sight of the old white city stadium in the bag. We are just waiting for the bbc to wind down and flock off. Why step sideways, when we can move forward with just a little patience required first.
