Sorry mate I should of said NOT on here, I meant the negativity on social media (twitter mainly) There’s seems to be a lot of hate going the owners way on there at the moment
I hope people think about who we could get......we are lucky we are not in the same mire as Blackpool, Coventry, Bolton, Blackburn (and previously Portsmouth, Charlton, Leyton Orient) and many other clubs that are in a far worse place than us. Our owners want the club to succeed, whatever people may think....many owners really don't or really don't care. The naming rights is a lovely gesture, that costs practically nothing, gives a lot of kudos and feel good factors. Well done whoever thought of it
Totally agree Beth, just seems there is a vocal minority in social media who really don’t like our owners and will use any stick to beat them with.
Nice idea, although I've no doubt it's solely for the kudos with H&F planners. Only problem is true supporters will never call it whatever is chosen, it'll always be Loftus Road to us...
Not quite the point...don't matter what the hard core call it..The media and the powers that be will call it the Kiyan Prince stand or The Grenfell United stand ( my favourite...will never happen though) For a season, we and the charity will get kudos. My only worry is more conspiracy theory. Are they soften us up so season after next we will be selling the name commercially....mind you even then the hard core will still call it Loftus Road!!! Of course this will happen Beth. We can become the Mittel Steel stadium for a ‘sponsership’ Deal of £10million a year...a nice way of the owners to be able to pump money into the club without falling foul of FFP (I think)
Aah, I see. I attribute my sunny and open disposition to not having anything to do with social media, except for this board, and everyone on here is lovely and respectful.
Twitter can be brutal......but enthralling. And all the better when someone famous who you can’t stand blocks you
I see Twitter’s weirdo CEO and founder (Dorsey?) has confessed that they had no idea how nasty it was going to get when they set it up. But they are making money, so who gives a **** if people are bullied, humiliated and terrified, some to suicide, by what ****wits post? Is your real identity clear on Twitter?
Mine is pretty clear as I’ve got a pic and my name.....but I make a point of only arguing my case and not being abusive, as well as thinking about what I tweet before I put it out there.....many don’t seem to follow that rule I was quoted in the Daily Mail the other day which was pretty bizarre.
But you can use a pseudonym if you want? Removal of anonymity on social media, even on here, would be very interesting.
Is was only a little tribute I put up for Con, the head of security of The Prodigy who I knew. They made a story out of nothing as obviously they didn’t know anything about his death and what happened. Mine was one of the quotes they used.
Yeah you can, and most do. But then it gives them carte blanche to be abusive......I’ve always had conviction in my beliefs and never felt the need. Twitter can be a war zone.
