Ground expansion thread

Seems the decision is that St James' will remain the clubs stadium which I 100% agree with. It's placement is perfect.

Agreed - we don’t need more than 60k, which will be easily achieved where we are. They can finish the bowl to make it nice and then just spruce the bastard up.

Money comes from everywhere else. Look at City, if it was about fans in the ground they’d never have any cash.

What's Anfield going up to, around 61,000 - 62,000 ?

Yes.

Staveley was on record hoping they can get to 65-70 k here I believe.. obviously nobody has a clue what number is possible, but I'd suggest 60 to 65 if I was a betting man.

Again, I'd say even that is too soon to say. They've said that was always the preference, without a doubt. But the reality may be that it's just not possible.

Other things to take into consideration would be things like, can we still play there whilst this work gets done? If not, where the hell do we play? Can't see us playing at the Stade de Merde.

Another option could be to buy up the Discovery Museum, and all the property around it including the residential areas and school and put a new one there. <whistle>

Yeah, they're basically knocking down their old stands and building new ones.

Which is basically the exact same thing we can do with our stadium.

Think St James' is great, but having two massive stands and then two from the 1960s looks idiotic imo.

There's going to be a question on a new stadium without a doubt.

I suspect they'll get a fair few votes for it tbh.

As long as it has some character.

I don't want a shopping mall with a bit of turf in the middle.

Who knows what they'll do mate, but I've come to realise this isn't the big sportswash we thought it was, so I preduct it'll be a modest improvement and a step in the right direction.

Oh I also vote to **** off these horrible green Arabic kits.

It's an embarrassment.

Yellow and green will be cool but yeah the Saudi colour is unnecessary. I get the feeling we will have to accept it though.

The main issue on the East Stand side is the "right to light" for Uni Halls of Residence more than it being a Grade I listed building.

Heard they have been exploring making the upper section of a new stand to include structural glass sections / panels to overcome the problem
So, are there any fireplaces in the Halls of Residence?
