I like Ostrich. For a short period of time was getting quite common around here, now hard to find again

Razor clams look bad but taste really nice. One of the worst things I've eaten is Andouillette a coarse-grained sausage made with pork (or occasionally veal), intestines or chitterlings, pepper, wine, onions, and seasonings.

Similar in the Limousin region in France - Limoges specialises in offal ... we were travelling through once and stopped at one of the service stations ... food looked lovely ... had these real big thick sausages, some on a bed of onions and some simmering in what turned out to be a mustard sauce ... I ordered one ... looked a bit like the picture above when cut open ... but it also stank ... kid you not it actually smelled like **** ... having paid for it I was determined to try it, not least because all the Frenchies seemed to be eating it and enjoying it ... one bite, gagged and nearly threw ... lesson learned <laugh>

My brother said that the sausage smells like ****. Why would anyone want to eat ****? OK, our Labrador loves eating ****, even his own, but he's ****ing stupid.

It's not like it's a horrible thing that tastes great, it is vile. I also tried it at a roadside cafe which probably made it worse.

Ate Locusts in Mauritania. They are nice. Taste a bit like a cross between prawns and chicken.

If you bought some chicken and it tasted a bit prawny, you'd bin it.

Frogs legs are the same, like chicken but a bit fishy so why eat them? The French a mad it's either top notch really nice food or they are serving up frogs and snails. Why ****ing bother they are not nice?

Yeah but locusts aren’t chicken or prawns, it just a description.

If you said ‘They taste a bit Locusty’ then it doesn’t really describe anything.

Fair point but mine is that no matter what frogs, snails or locusts taste like they are not worth eating. It's an old tradition that people need to move on from as they no longer need to eat that ****e. If something genuinly tastes really nice then great eat it no matter what it is but having tried some of this "odd" food it's never amazing and really not worth it.

I hate the smell and thought of tripe. But had a dish as a kid that I liked. Turns out its tripe. Love it
