Jarvis and Vaughan both look a lot more comfortable and natural out wide than Longman and Allahyar. Vaughan at the minute is a nailed on starter. Jarvis is certainly making a claim. Longman just seems to have bottomed out on confidence, Allahyar just needs to slow down a little bit
If we sign Cox and Vinagre, Fleming needs to go permanently. He’s regressed a lot. Longman needs to go out on loan to a League 1 team. Yeah he scored but he looks so bereft of confidence and seems to **** up the basics on a regular basis.
I think part of the problem is he doesn't really do the basics. He always tries too hard when he has the ball and forces things and it's just not coming off for him, he needs to simplify things and build a platform from there imo.
Not much positive apart from them getting more minutes into their legs. The players who looked sharpest I'd say were Delap, Jarvis, Slater and Vaughan.
His 6 months at Oxford did him no favours, got hardly any game time despite some fans saying he looked good.
Slater was pretty anonymous I thought. Woods stood out again, Simons looks a good partner. Jarvis and Vaughan have seemingly made the winger position their own
The problem with this that we would like to ship out, is that I cant see many coming in for them that would equal the wages/contracts they're on now.
I think that may not be the case... did Tan not say two wingers...? or is Sinik one together with Loliko..
Probably, it was the Grimsby commentator that said it, and he seemed confused about it himself. To be fair, he was fairly well balanced through it.
port vale were called bursem port vale from 1884 to 1907, when they collapsed, lost their league place, and reformed as port vale. they still play in burslem but have occasionally been based elsewhere. in the 1919-1920 season when leeds city were epxpelled for dodgy financials eight games into the season, port vale were brought in to replace them and, unusually, to take over their remaining fixtures. we had already played leeds city twice (and were the last team to beat them) so we didn't play port vale that season. we finished 11th and port vale finished a point and two places lower.
Port Vale are supposed to be the only club not named after a settlement. Arsenal isn’t a settlement either so I don’t know why they aren’t included. Maybe because originally called Woolwich Arsenal. The idea was mooted after Leeds City were kicked out to amalgamate them with Huddersfield Town, they both played in blue and white stripes then, and move to Huddersfield as their ground was bigger. Herbert Chapman who had been at Leeds when they were kicked out went to manage Huddersfield. How I wish that plan had come to fruition. Chapman then proceeded in 4 seasons to win the Cup and the League 3 times, which is, as I love to remind fans of TWS the same as Leeds have managed in over 100 years.
